Overview

Air France operates this aircraft on a variety of select, high density routes on the Air France network. Built with the latest technology, the A380 is not only the most silent aircraft in its class but its tremendous size also provides the most comfort.

This version reflects Air France's original configuration with Premium Economy class located on the upper deck, behind Business Class. There are several rows of Economy Class located on the upper deck on this version.

Air France charges an additional € 70 to reserve a seat on the Upper Deck for seats AB and KL (rows 88-94). The seat plan is named Duo Seat in a Row of 2. The seats feature an extra 2 inches of legroom on the upper deck. These seats might be available, free of charge, for Flying Blue Platinum, Club 200, and Skipper members. The Upper Deck has smaller overhead storage bins than those found on the main deck, but extra bins along the windows and near the stairs provide some storage space.

We were booked on a 777; AF changed it to a 380. The seats are NOT lie-flat, they are angled-flat. Since we were westbound, I did not care much, since I wanted to stay awake; it bothered my wife (70B), who wanted to get some sleep, Had this happened on the red-eye going easy (JFK to CDG), we would have been REALLY pissed off. My wife says business class on the 380 is just glorified coach+ The plane waited 45 minutes from landing to gate (double jetways are probably scarce), seems to have run out of fuel (we were TOWED to the gate) Moral: "if it's not Boeing, I ain't going!"

The comments about the seat are correct; however, also note that the screen doesn't come out as much as others I've had, so you have to watch at an angle the whole time. This plane is OLD, but compared to newer ones, there is quite a bit of space between the seat and plane side, so lots of elbow room. There is also a pocket on the wall, where I was able to store a few things. This is the only exit row seat with no attendant in front, so lots of leg room.

Comfortable seat with a tons of leg room. The recline is not fully flat but very easy to sleep on. Proximity to the galley and lavatory is bothersome for sure. The lavatory bathroom door is within eye shot and the light can be annoying when the cabin is dark.

Although I'm grateful to fly business class at all, these seats are the worst business class seats I've ever encountered. We did not book them, but were moved there because we were told the video monitors didn't work in our original seats (booked months in advance), which turned out to be a lie. The worst part is that people tried to use the space in front of the seats as an aisle to cross from one side to the other, even though we put our pillows and blankets on the floor to try to block access. People just came anyway, stepping on our pillows with their dirty feet coming out of the bathroom! And they even stepped over our legs when we had our beds reclined! The crew made it worse by closing the curtains to what should have been the cross-over access between the lavatories in the two sides. As others have noted, the video screens are in the armrest and much smaller than in other seats. Worst business class seats ever!

If it was possible, I'd put 94K in a darker red as it is much worse than 93B: not only do you have the same issues (catering carts, crew passages and proximity to the lavatories), it is also the side of the cabin with the stairs meaning there is also movements from the two decks that will stop your rest. I was bumped so many times during my flight on this seat by passing passengers and crew that it is for me one of the worst flights of my life....AVOID AT ANY COST

We had a fantastic experience in La Premiere. While the seats are not as "private" as those on the 777-300, they are incredibly comfortable and the service was excellent. I enjoyed having having a separate changing room; the sole bathroom for 9 passengers was perfectly adequate. My husband was in 2F (he is 6'5") and was equally impressed. The ground service was impressive and the La Premiere lounge at CDG is quite the experience. I have to admit I felt a little guilty when we boarded the plane at LAX; it is a little surreal being walked to the front of a line that has hundreds of passengers and walking onto a private boarding gate!

Lots of room between the seat and the cabin side. Everything shows sign of age. There is no AC power socket and the USB socket does not even provide sufficient charge to keep a tablet going through the flight.

Low-quality business cabin that is a generation (or two behind the competition). At least I had a middle aisle seat. Avoid the A380 Air France business cabin if possible and try to fly a route with their 777 newer business cabin. These are almost a generation behind by now as well, but much better than the A380 upper deck.

I flew AF10 from CDG-JFK on 4/21/19 in seat 92L and had a great experience. I had originally booked seat 92G (which doesn't cost anything additional at booking) but upon check-in, some of the "duo" seats were available for no extra charge, so I made the switch. Would highly recommend this seat, you have a view out two windows, it was comfortable, and the bin on the side was extremely convenient. Service and food were excellent, I've never landed from a long flight feeling full. IFE system feels a bit old, but it works fine. I liked watching the tail camera.

This seat may be good for a very tall person. I reserved it because I usually reserve Comfort Plus, just for extra amenities and space. This particular seat ended up being my most uncomfortable flight I've taken. The DL8599 leaves SFO at 3:20PM, and lands in Paris the next morning. Ideally, you'd want to sleep a good chunk of that time but it will be basically impossible, as the crew uses the space in front to congregate, and you are directly next to the galley and the bathroom, both of which remain brightly lit for the entire flight. Additionally, AF tends to discontinue beverage service during overnight flights but will leave out a cart of water in this open area - TONS of foot traffic, people taking walking breaks, NO under seat storage (for a woman with a purse this is exceptionally annoying), plus you will still need to climb two other people (also trying desperately to sleep) in order to get to the lavatories. What a mistake. I can't believe they charge extra for this seat, it should be a discounted price.

I flew in Seat 34D. The seat has plenty of legroom but has major drawbacks. All of your items must be stored under the seat in front of you... two rows forward. Very inconvenient. You have no USB port which the other seats do have. Finally, the console screen and tray table unfold from the armrest. The tray table was horrible. When unfolded, It is approximately 9" or more closer to your body than the person sitting next to you in basic economy whose tray table unfolds from the back of the seat in front of them! It was terrible. I took photos and submitted them to Air France requesting a refund for the seat upgrade cost but so far they have been unresponsive.

42A is a standar seat in the context of modern airlines: short leg room, and very uncomfortable. I ended with back pain after a 10 hours trip. The configuration in small sub cabins in this airplane gives the sensation that one is travelling in a Greyhound Bus. Definitively, for my netx travel to Europe I willchose another airline. Even Iberia is more comfortable, despite the usual bad attitude of their crews

Pros: This seat has a lot of leg room, with a small wall in front of it where the 3rd seat in row 10 would have been. This means you can not leave the seat by walking through row 10- you still need to climb past the other 2 seats in the row. Cons: Proximity to the bathroom and food prep area means that this area can be noisy, which can make it hard to sleep in an overnight flight. Note: the armrests on this row cannot be raised.

WARNING!! If you are over 5'10" you will be very uncomfortable in this seat. The left side curves inward because you are on the top level of the aircraft. So your head must tilt to the right to accommodate. Imagine sitting with your entire body facing to the right for the duration of the flight. And if there's someone large sitting on your right, you are even less mobility in your seat. The tray table and video screen being in the armrest--well that further reduces your seat width. Oh, did I mention there is no window at this row? Remember, you have been warned.

There is not a seat i have not sat on in this a380 from air france. I have done it all from first class to economy. I am flying thisn route again now thursday evening. First class seats are of course nice and comfy , service is what you can expect but one time they did not serve any drinks before take off . Not sure how this is possible in first. Business class seats are not totally flat a shame actually. Food in bus class can go from excellent to really poor , presentation is usually just average. premium eco a waist of money. Economy seats are hard , and what af consider premium economy seats in the front of airplane , seats they enjoy giving to frequent flyers as myself are to be avoided at all cost. You are just next to the galley . Lights remain on all night and galley can be loud at times . Economy service is not bad.

1. The aisle seats (B and K) on the upper deck at the back (92, 93 and 94 rows) ARE AWFUL. The middle armrest intrudes MORE on the aisle seat than on the window seat! Why on earth would an airline have an assymetrically disposed armrest? 2. The economy class seats on the upper deck are INFERIOR to those on the lower deck. a)There is no more knee room b) The overhead bins are half the size of those on main deck, c) There is an unjustified fee for the seats and d) The upper deck suffers from excessive temperature (Hot air rises).

Certainly these seats are not leading edge in terms of business class travel but they are very comfortable and large. The lack of aisle access when you have a window seat is annoying when you need to climb over a recumbent seat partner and I am sure it more so when you don't know your seat mate. The angle flat thing doesn't bother me and the seat is plenty long enough for my 5'10 frame and even though your feet go into a well, it is large and not cramped in my opinion. The screen is large and responsive, the IFE selection OK not great but more than adequate for a 10 hour flight especially one that is overnight. Not bad although and obviously miles ahead of most of the seats downstairs - the A380 is a delight, quiet and very spacious. I love the plane and the seats are perfectly good especially if you can snag a late upgrade and ask - they sometimes sell them for a song.

The seats in Premium Economy do not recline, they only slide down, like the ones in Spirit Airlines. It puts your body in an awkward position not helping you relax to sleep. There is no footrest on Row 81 and The seat cushion is also very thin and it becomes uncomfortable for long haul flight. Even with my inflatable footrest and neck rest and a pillow, I could not sleep on my 11 hour flight. The reviews by others are correct. The extra hundreds of dollars I paid for Premium Economy are NOT worth it, you are better off booking Economy in the Upper Deck rear section, there are 2X2 seats by the window.

I made an upgrade of 272GBP for a seat in Premium Economy. It was absolutely not worth it. The recline of the seat is curved and makes your back arch very uncomfortable. The leg rest is to short and does not lift enough. Yes, you have a little more space and a bigger screen, but it is not worth the cost. I will rather pay for a better seat in Economy for less money.

This was a very uncomfortable seat. The seat is stiff with little padding, I used my blanket for some padding. Being in a 'shell' is nice but the 'sliding' seat makes a sleeping position impossible. This will be my first and last trip on an AF A380 in PE. Being upstairs did make the trip feel far less cramped.

I've done multiple trans-Atlantic trips on the upper deck, economy with AF and with the latest trend of ever-slimmer seats, it's nice to still have some space on this original config of the A380. Quiet cabine, reasonable recline and seat width and service. IFE is a bit older but it does its job. Recline and confort are reasonably for Y-class. Would recommend; way better than the 10-abreast seating on the 777.

The seat is a bad seat for overnight flights. There are permanently flight attendants in the galley working (with light fully turned on), which makes it difficult to fall asleep. The additional legroom is also used to park trolley while preparing service. I recommend to board very late, as in Paris CDG the economy class boards via the exit in front of 10B/10C. The seat itself is narrow (even narrower as 10B as flight entertaining systems are in both armrests. The seat has very limited overhead compartments, as the flight crew uses it for their luggage.

CDG to JFK, Premium Economy. In 30 years of flying I can honestly say this was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever been in. It is impossible to believe that this seat design was approved by this airline as acceptable. The seat does not recline, it slides to an uncomfortable angle. The foot rest is useless as it only provides support for your thigh. Horrible seat in every way possible.

We were in economy, seat 24 aisle and window with the middle seat empty. This is right next to the wing. The way this plane is configured you can barely see out of the window because the wing takes up much of the view. It was a bit claustrophobic. I would recommend trying to get a seat not next to the enormous wings.

TERRIBLE SEAT. The seat is located essentially in the kitchen where flight attendants congregate and talk all night long on red eye between DC and Paris. Lights from the kitchen are left on constantly that shine right to the seat location. Seat would not recline and the monitor was broken. Lastly, throughout entire flight, you constantly are asked to move your legs to allow service carts to be maneuvered from kitchen to aisles. As a frequent flyer, I've never rated a flight experience low, but this one was terrible

This seat is not as much an exit aisle as it is a thoroughfare for everyone moving between rows. Even the flight attendants constantly cross in front causing the need to move your feet or get tripped upon. Would never pay extra for this seat again. Also, Air France did not dim cabin lights during flight, which, was very bothersome.

Shanghai-Paris. The seat is ok, but the china esastern business class seats was better (reversed fishbone). The amenities are ok, the headphone is fixed to the seat. Flew Paris to Johannesburg (10.5hrs) in Business Seats are more modern then the A330 and IFE was very good (could rival Qatar Airways) food selection was good but dinner was very late as left at 11:30 for overnight. I originally flew to Paris from LA on AF in Premium Economy and though it was nothing as wonderful as Air New Zealand, it was quite good. Offered a reasonable $350 upgrade to Business Class, I flew in seat 66E on the way back. Disastrous experience. My IFE went out 6 times and then we gave up. The cabin was so warm it was very uncomfortable. Food was terrible, each meal they would arrive at my seat, third row from the front and say, "Sorry, all we have is fish." The fish was awful...and I love fish. The seat ate my seatbelt and it took to Flight Attendants to take the damn seat apart to get it out and they even were out of Perrier/Sparkling water. The worst part was the chief purser, who really did not give a damn and would not move me to another empty seat. Will never fly Air France again.

Premium Economy seats are roomier, and the fact that the seat in front of you reclines within a fixed area so it doesn't invade your space (fixed) is a big plus, but it also makes the sleeping position weird. Long story short: it's definitely a plus, over a standard eco seat, but I'm not sure it's worth the money. I'd rather next time booked the 91A-B-K-L.

This seat was nice on the flight from Paris to Singapore, despite the fact that the cabin was quite noisy, during the meal service. Luckily it was a night flight, so the crying baby a few rows back fell asleep. The seat was very new and clean, and the tv was very responsive, throughout the whole flight. The business class seats are great if you are traveling with a partner, but are a bit unpractical if you are traveling alone, especially on a night flight, since you have to cross over the person sitting next to you, if you have a window seat. Food was one of the best I have eaten in the air! No noise or such from the galley, until landing. Great seat! Recommended!

LAX-CDG First time on the A380 and I thought it would be a great experience to be on the upper deck so I purchased duo seats 92 K-L. Unfortunately, about 6 weeks to departure I logged in to check flight times and found this flight completely missing from my itinerary. After 90 minutes on the phone they added it back in with no explanation or apology for the missing segment and the K-L seats or any upper deck duo seats no longer available. Again without any apology, we were stuck with 91 D-E as the best alternative. These were good seats. The seats seemed a little narrow but overall was an average economy seat with average comfort and average recline for a long-haul. I was really disappointed with the cabin. Old, outdated, all the white was yellowed. Rather shabby really.

SEAT: 93G - last row on top level I flew from CDG to LAX in seat 93G and I was pleased with the seat. I liked being in the last row and close to the bathroom and Snack Bar! I was surprised that not only did I have a USB charging port at the bottom of the TV screen, I also had a foot rest. This is a straight economy seat and I didn't expect either of those items! I am only 5'3" so I had plenty of legroom but a tall man sitting next to me was a bit more cramped. The seats on this plane seem to be a bit more narrow than the average plane but it was wide enough for me. This seat does recline but the seats in economy don't recline far, which is nice for the person behind the reclining seat! The seats sort of go back and down, like some recliners do so as not to encroach on the space behind. I had reserved a window seat in advance of the check in and paid $23 for the privilege but I really hadn't needed to. There were plenty of seats available when I checked in 25 hrs before takeoff. In fact, I changed my window seat on the mail level to this one on the upper level of the plane. With the cameras, I was able to see what I would have seen from the windows! I would have liked to have gotten a window seat on the upper level simply for the extra storage beside the seat but I really didn't need it. A word about the overheads on the upper level! Those over the side seats are very small. They are really only for coats, purses or very small bags. Those over the center seats are bigger. I was one of the first on the plane in the area of my seat so I did get the cabinet directly above my seat. ENTERTAINMENT: The entertainment monitor offered a large selection of movies, both older and newly released. They had many in English, as well as French and German and a couple other languages. They provide you with headphones free of charge. There is also music, news, games and flight information. FOOD: I was given the following: Snack and drink soon after takeoff Dinner: Curry Chicken, Salad, Cheese, Roll, Dessert and water. You are also offered wine, beer, soda, juice and coffee/tea A couple hours later, we were offered Ice Cream Bars. Lunch: Potatoes Au Gratin, Cucumber Salad, Cheese, Lemon Tart, Roll, water SNACK BAR: The snack bar in the back has a variety of items. It seemed to change throughout the flight. I saw Granola Bars, Candy, Pretzels, Rolls, Ice Cream The service was excellent with everyone being very friendly and personable. I enjoyed the flight more than I expected and the 12 hours past relatively quickly. This plane tends to be much quieter than the other planes I have been on. You don't hear nearly as much of the engine noise. I would fly on this plane and with Air France again.

Just flown with Air France on their Paris to Hong Kong route in seats 91K, 91L on the Airbus A380. Paid extra to have these seats. Not worth it. Legroom is excellent as they are emergency exit seats but the seats themselves are very narrow, hard and uncomfortable. Unable to sleep sucessfully in them. Also there is nowhere to store any books, toileteries or other items you may need on the flight. The in seat video controller was faulty and the sound kept being lost.

I paid extra for seats 10A and 10b on a flight from Paris to Hong Kong which are situated adjacent the exit door and galley area. The seats whilst having unlimited legroom are insufficiently deep on the seat part. I am not tall and the support only covered half of my thigh making it seem as if you were sat on a ledge. The seats were also insufficiently padded and very hard for an overnight flight making sleep impossible. The same aircraft as Emirates but in a lower league altogether. I wouldn't fly with Air France again.

My partner and I upgraded to Premium Economy flying from Paris back to JFK when we checked-in at Charles De Gaulle. It was a bit steep to upgrade nearly !000 EUR for both of us, BUT, I have to say, it WAS worth it. The seating was equivalent to many business (and even first class) flights I have taken in the U.S. Compared to Delta Comfort + for example, Air France has a DEFINITIVE Premium Economy product, and with really, VERY slight differences, is on par with AF Business Class. Ultimately, I was satisfied and it was a comfortable flight. If I happened to find myself flying to Paris on AF again anytime soon, I would ABSOLUTELY fly their Premium Economy product again. BIG THUMBS UP.

Additionally, the pull-out entertainment screen was loose and there is no USB port to recharge your phone. Not really good enough for the extra fee.

Not only is there no floor storage but also no overhead storage for carry-on. There is also just one little sleeve fot both seats in that row , where you would put your book or glasses, but it's full of In-flight magazines . However, ample leg room makes up for it

Not a good row for 12J, 12K and 12L - the toilets and drink station are right next to this seat, and even when the flight is darkened they leave the lights on in that area. There is a curtain, but they don't close it. Very hard to sleep in this whole row.

We were VERY happy with these seats. Both rows fully reclined and there was no problem with the bulkhead. The storage area on the window side is so wonderful- not only for storage but for putting your food/beverage/books on top when closed. Row 88 does not have a foot rest and the video screen/tray table is in the armrest - which is not quite as good. But the leg room is terrific.

The legroom in row 90 is worth the extra money. However, the TV screens are in the side of the seats and two out of the four in the row were broken. The flight attendant was helpful in trying to steady them with tape (I should have brought duct tape!) but they really didn't work. I also have to add that the economy cabin was dirty and the food was the worst I have ever eaten on any flight.

I would for sure say that 92L is worth the extra money that I paid, it's a 2-seat row, as you can see in the map. In the back of the upper deck, so close to the toilet but not too close to it that other people would bother you. Quite convenient, and the design of the storage space between the seat and the window is good for you to sleep on if you don't mind bending for a bit. Good option, when premium econ is not available or when you don't wanna pay too much for a flight. I take this flight regularly, and this has always been my first choice when I fly econ

Having traveled a lot with KLM I tried booking with Air France instead as I find the KLM Premium economy is not offering enough for the long flights. I read a few warnings and reviews that the seats are horrible that I ignored. But after having travled and paid the double of the normal ticket price my conclusion is pretty clear. Waste of money. The seat moves in a shell which for some reason unables you to rest. The foot rest is to short and I am only 5,7. But you are better of with the normal seat in the KLM premium economy at a much lower price.

I went from CDG to SFO and back, both legs in 61L. On the positive side: noise in this plane is much lower than in any other; service (food, drinks, ...) in Biz class is outstanding; seat is confortable (much more than in the Boeing 777 similar configuration); IFE is correct with a wide collection of movies and TV series; a lot of storage on the boxes near to the window area. On the negative side: one toilet only in the front cabin is a bit short, especially if the flight is fully booked in Biz. The 2-2-2 configuration makes it difficult (if you are in A or L seat) to "jump" over your neighbour who is asleep.

I recently took a flight from LAX to CDG on this plane. I was a bit surprised and disappointed in the business class seating layout. Perhaps it was just my expectations but, I thought that this being an ultra-modern plane and it being Air France, I assumed the seating would be modern and chic (for lack of a better word). The 2-2-2 seating layout makes accessing the aisle from the window seats a bit of a chore if your seat partner is laying down (I was the one laying down). There is a lack of storage space aside from the window seat compartments (I was on a quick trip very little to store). The AV system seemed a bit dated. The seats were not particularly comfortable and unfortunately did not lay flat. As I stated, it was a bit surprising and disappointing. I was looking forward to experiencing a very modern, tasteful first-time flight on the A380. On the up side, the staff was outstanding - very professional and very attentive and, the food was very good.

Sold as extra legroom seat and the pictures given on the website appear to indicate that the area in front of the seat is open, however there is a barrier next to the seats in row 10 which prevents you from exiting your seat in front of you, instead you must ask your adjacent passengers to get up for you. So whilst there is a little more leg room (I'm 5'11" and I couldn't straighten my legs) this seat is only a little better than regular seats. Not worth paying extra for it.

Very nice seat for a small difference in price from normal economy, with the wide armrest between the seats it feels much more private, however not so nice if you travel with a partner. The storage space is a smaller than on the lower deck but not an issue at all as it is still bigger than storage space on narrow body jets and there are also not so many seats so a big part of the storage was empty. Big tray table allows easy work with laptop and leg room is really nice plus the seat in front doesn't recline.

This seat may have a lot of legroom and is good for deplaning if you have a connection, but if you are trying to sleep, try somewhere else. Row 80 is not a premium economy row! It does not have comfortable seats that recline as far as economy seats or a large tray table as advertised on the air france website and the tv folds into the armrest so that you cant watch anything during takeoff and decent/landing. I loved the tail camera and the mood-lighting! However, being in the window seat, I have something to add on to the other people reviewing this airplane: On the lower deck, there is quite a bit of space in between the seat and the window (since the airplane walls curve inwards toward the bottom on the lower deck). Because of this, it's a bit harder to sleep by leaning on the wall. Well, the tail camera and Air France's service probably tops that minor inconvenience, and I would recommend this airplane to anyone.

Air France missed it with ALL their business class seats. They don't have a foot rest. The seats may recline, but your feet are down on the floor. Unless i missed something on my flight. It's unbelievable they didn't design it with a foot rest that props the feet up. Take a lesson from British Airways.

This is NOT a very good seat. There is zero storage space while in the seat. Everything must be kept in your lap. No barf bag available if needed nor the normal magazines. The overhead bin is tiny. My hat wouldn't even fit in it. Must use the overhead bins over other seats. There is NO exterior visibility while in this seat. The seat is too narrow and my butt isn't big. The seat tilts slightly down and makes it a little uncomfortable. There is an extra charge for this seat which I feel is unjustified due to these shortcomings.

Air France really does have a lot of gall. To charge a premium for this seat is outrageous. The seat is only comfortable for someone who is less than 5'4" tall (170cms). It is cramped and probably one of the most uncomfortable seats on an aircraft and would serve as a form of ancient torture, specially if you have a cretin seated in 94K behind you as I did.

Air France is a great airline to begin with. the first is extremely quiet. the seats recline into beds. although i would have enjoyed closing doors more the first class has curtains which add a great amount of privacy. The food was phenomenal I was in the mood for my sea bass prepared in a different way and the chef came out and served it to me personally. If you do book first i would definitely pick seat 1A it is a little weird at first due to the position but it us very private. the service is great and their first class is very cheap compared to other airlines. Airfrance-6,500 british airways- 16,000 everyone is very nice when I checked in at DIA i was escorted by my one person who led me to the car which took me to a air france club for first class passenger which was empt. i was able to eat get a message and make arrangements for paris. the first class passengers are the last passengers on the plane. My personal car escorted me to the plane ~10minutes before departure. My final destination was Nice, France which is about a 1-30 min flight from paris. i was the first person off the plane where there was a person with my name and i went to her she led me to the car where she informed me that she would take me to my private jet to take me to Nice. Air France has a private jet service for first class passengers. This jet was mine and upon checkin in denver i asked if i could have someone take me to my private jet. the lady said yes. i wasn't expecting it to happen but it did and my checked luggage was at my private jet before i was. I was very impressed with them and would recommend them always.

I previously flew on this plane in business class and was very happy to see that things were the way ti used to be. Flying was enjoyable! Service and food were great! Reclinging seats were wondeful! On my next flight, i flew Premium Economy, and couldnt be more unhappy! The price wasnt that cheap either, the seats were beyond miserable! Virtually no seat padding, they only go back a few inches, and the footrest only up a few inches. I didnt eve.n feel the seat back move but maybe 4". The food wasnt ediable, in fact on the return flight, we bought sandwiches in a sack on board!!! You were only given a small bottle of,water when you boarded, and after that you had to wait for a stewart to pour you a little in a plastic cup. Not even for the middle of the night. It was by far the worst flight for comfort, food and service! The seats were still expensive, but for one class down from business where everything was great, to this "bus ride" is inexcuable. I flew from LAX to Paris, so a long overnight flight.

Seatguru says that the seats in rows 89-94, AB and KL have two inches of extra legroom, but I think that's not true. Row 89K/L seemed to be as tight as any other economy seat. Also, the overhead storage for these two rows is the same as for the rest of the airplane; rows 90-94 have smaller overhead bins. I still think these seats are worth the extra 50 for a couple traveling together. It's nice to have no one climbing over you to get out, or fighting for the armrest.

Experienced business class on three airlines (AF, DL, and VS (Virgin Atlantic)) on a recent trip to South Africa. The cabin service on this flight from JNB to CDG was terrible. Stingy with the drinks. Even getting more water was a trial. On the positive side, the seats were the most comfortable of the 3 even though they didn't lie flat. The widest seats of the 3 cabins. Loved the extra storage spaces on the sidewall and the big video screens. .

64A is definitely a yellow seat, about 2 1/2 hours before landing I was woken up but the constant sound of the tin doors in the galley being opened and closed as the crew prepared breakfast. why it took so much prep is another question as all they serve for breakfast is a small bowl of fruit, mini pastry and a very plain yogurt. I think coach gets a better breakfast. The seat in general is not up to the standards of modern business class. The box for for your feet is very small I don't have large feet and my toes touched the top, I felt like I spent the flight wearing shoes that were one side to small. the motors that control the seat is very loud, anytime someone adjusts their seat it sounded like the pilot was lowering the flaps. It is a good thing AF is replacing these seats, otherwise I wouldn't spend the money again for these seats.

The first class section really isn't a private suite but the service was awesome. There was a 2 to 1 ratio of passengers to flight attendants. At check in at LAX, they assigned a hostess to take you through security and directly to the lounge and then gather you at the time of boarding and take you right on the plane and get you settled. Upon arrival in Paris, a hostess greets you and takes you to a fleet of luxury cars to drive you directly to the First Class Lounge. They notified me that they would go through the same process when my connecting flight to Venice was ready for boarding. Air France certainly raised the bar of first class service in comparison to the other European or domestic airlines.

93A/B: Lavatory cant be heard at all. Hardly any galley noise. Normal recline. If seated on the left side of the cabin, you do not get easy access to the inflight "bar" (self-service drinks + snacks) or the stairs to take a walk since you need to cross the galley. General remark: Seats on AF's 388 are definitely wider than 17.5in - the previous value of 19in seemed MUCH more in line.

The general setup of the business class seats is not as private as in some other airlines. It is however, adequate. My one issue with the seat is that it does not offer support for the lower leg or foot. There is a storage area in back of the seat in front where some passengers were resting there feet. Im not sure if that was the intention for this are. At 6' 3" it was a little uncomfortable to push my UK size 11 feet into that area without having to turn my feet at an angle. The tv being on the back of the seat in front meant it could disturb others. As this was a long haul flight overnight at some point all the tvs were off. I guess nobody wanted to disturb another person. Ive never witnessed this on any other such flight.

81L has a lot of leg room, so if you are tall....you will like this seat quite a bit and highly recommend it. That said....if you are on the shorter side like me (175 cm), I'd recommend the non exit row economy seats as they have a foot rest. The seat in combination with the foot rest form a really relaxing position. I fly this route once a month and I have to say the AF crews are really very nice. The food is fine. I prefer AF crews over Delta for their professionalism.

While some may find this seat to be bad because of its proximity to the bathrooms, I did not think it was bad at all. First of all, yes the overhead compartment above this seat is extremely small, but there were other compartments on the upper deck that offer plenty of space for the carryon. The seat itself was big, comfortable and had ample space for the legs. There are two things I found this selection offered that made this a perfect choice for me; One is that the inner arm rest goes up, and two is that you have a special compartment to your left (underneath the window) where you can store things like your purse, laptop, food, or anything at all really. I thought this was great as I placed my purse, boots and other things that allowed me to keep the space in front of me free to use for my feet, this compartment also closes, and since the armrest goes up, I was able to place my pillow on there and rest comfortably. Now this may be a coincidence or the fact that people have read bad things about this seat, but the seat next to me was empty, so I got to enjoy a long flight from Miami to France with ample room. Overall, I was very pleased with my seat and I am glad I did not base my selection on the rating found on this or other sites. It is not the end of the world to sit by the bathroom, especially when you get extra perks.

Hard to complain about first class BUT: service is very mechanical. They go from the left side of the cabin to the right, so the A seats are almost done with dinner before the L seats have been offered water. The seat is very comfortable in all positions, but the linen, blanket and especially pillow are skimpy. The pajamas are, however, excellent. Car service to the first class lounge is a great touch.

Row 90 is worth the extra cost. Lots of leg room and the only drawback may be the TV and tray are in the seat divider and feel a bit tighter than having it on the seat in front but the extra leg room certainly makes up for it. There is si much leg room that I felt guilty!

At first appearance, Premium Economy upstairs appeared to be comfortable. However, I soon realized that the shell seating not only prohibited the seat from reclining, but the seat itself was terribly uncomfortable and hard. There are two attendants, but they aren't very solicitous or warm and there aren't any special food perqs. Air New Zealand's premium economy seems like Business class in comparison

I've tried a few and this (and counterpart 11L) is to me the best Economy seat on an Air France A380. There's no seat in front of you, instead you get the equivalent of about half a seat of extra legroom. There'll be a partition in front of you to separate you from the door, which means you'll still have to bug the aisle person when you need to get up. That partition though includes a convenient hook for your purse/carry on so you can keep everything you need nearby. Feels like your own little private nook, almost like Business Class. And by some miracle, Air France doesn't charge extra for it.

Seat 91L has a lot of extra legroom on the upper deck of the Air France A380 between JFK and Paris. If you are tall (I am 6'2"), this would be a very good seat. This was a Preferred Seat, but it does not have a window. I paid $68 for this seat and it is worth the money. The upper deck is very private. It looks great compared to Premium Economy which is expensive. This is the first time I went on Air France and on an A380. The service is great.

I paid extra for seat 91B in an exit row on the upper deck, and the legroom and ease of getting to the toilet was well worth it! Because there is only a tiny window in the door, you don't get the crowds from the middle seats congregating there. The upper deck seating is 2-4-2, so it feels less crowded than lower deck. Also sitting in back up top is behind business class and it seems cozier.

At first it looks like you have 'scored' with this seat, nobody in front, slightly extra leg room ( I think?), BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, because it is a bulkhead, near to the galley, and toilet, you WILL get other passengers with absolutely NO MANNERS, walking directly from one aisle to the other, even stepping over you in the flat or semi flat position....!!!! These people can walk an extra 3 metres (9 feet) and go through the galley to get to the other side, but they do not care if they intrude your space. Avoid this seat unless you do not care that kids and adults will be stepping over you throughout the flight to go to the toilet or galley.

I think Air France did a great job to make their seating plan for the A380. I took the A380 for the first time on AFR66 from Paris to Los Angeles, and I have nothing to say. Not only there is more leg space than in planes such as the B772 or the A332, but the TV screens are larger, and it is generally quieter in this plane. I sat in 22D, and thought it was a good seat. It was located in a somewhat smaller section of the plane, on the lower deck. I see that AF makes people pay extra to sit on the upper deck because of leg room, but I thought there was plenty on the lower deck. Overall the AF A380 is great.

Me and my husband were flying from San Francisco to Paris with this plane last saturday. We had the seat 88K and 88L. We didn't have to pay extra for sitting on the upper deck, even if we were sitting in the row of two. We had planty of legspace, around twice as much as the other seats (because of the possibility to hang the babybed there). The table and the TV were in the side armrests, but the middle armrest was fully moveable. Under the window we had a bagspace, so we could keep the things there which we didn't want to put up. The bulkhead separeted us from the front row, which made our place really quiet, and noone put the seat into our faces... Alltogether, it was the best seat I have ever had.

Not only are these seats near the lavatory, they are loud with service carts and trays. In addition the light in the galley shines directly in your face. Certainly mask helps, but they are my absolute least favorite seats!

I flew from IAD to CDG in Business Class. I was a bit disappointed. Compared to business class seats on other carriers, these were angled lie flat which are not nearly as comfortable as true lie flat. I didn't feel as if had as much room for my things as on other carriers either.

Just flew 4 legs, all on AF 380's. These seats are not at the same level of even Delta. For this aircraft to be the flagship of Air France, I was expecting better. They do not go flat at all, an issue as to where to put your feet. For a plane that cool, was expecting better and Delta's business class is far superior, and I am no fan of Delta!

If you are tall ( I am 1.95m) these business seats are not adequate. not for the seat it self that is wide and comfortable but because of the room reserved for the feet. The "hole" underneath the seat in front is not tall enough to accommodate those that have bigger feet. I need to try the seats on row 60 and 65 (front row) that have no seats ahead. these are slightly narrower to accommodate the video but may not have the legroom limitation.

The legroom is fantastic, easy to get up and stand for a while. But .. it was extremely cold right next to the exitdoor. We ended up covered with 3 blankets each and were still cold.

Row 66 has the problem that the babies are placed in the row in front. We had a baby crying constantly for the 13 hour flight from Singapore to Paris which we could hear even through ear plugs! Poor mother, poor us. We are pensioners and had saved for this treat in business class. Instead of a treat it was a nightmare!

Though the flight was fabulous, the staff were great, and the plane was awesome, I would not reccommend this seat as it is right by the gally and it was quite noisy thorughout the flight.

You should point out that these rear-upper deck Economy seats have severely limited-size overhead bins. They are half the height of the rest of the plane. This is because of the taper of the tail section. Carry-ons will NOT FIT. However, there is a large bin beside the seat at the wall, very useful. Packing in two soft-side smaller backpacks or duffels instead of one large carry-on works, but travelers should be warned-- Board early and get a regular overhead bin ahead of these rows.

The forward cabin in Business Class is much quieter and more private than the larger cabin. Forward of the curtain AF has what it calls La Galerie, which provides an excellent space for those os who need to exercise our back or neck during a long flight.

these seats a seem much larger than the sizes listed. Business class on the 380 is like first on most others. Lots of storage around the seat and plenty of legroom. seat construction means no one can recline back into your space

Seat was good for economyclass. Good inflight entertainment although the controlpanel was tedious to use. The seat is only 2 in a row but I'd prefer the window seat as it has a storage compartment below the window next to the seat. The overhead bins are smaller to the back of the plane.

Plenty of legroom, but uncomfortable for sleeping. The seat backs are fixed and do not recline, they sort of slide down, moving your bottom forward pushing your head down into your chest. Four of us travelling all complained about the sleep quality. Air France spent a lot of money on these seats but it is hard to believe the decision makers tried to sleep in the seats. Flew the A380 LAX-Paris-Johannesberg. Configured 2-3-2 on the upper deck. You have to walk back though an economy to get to the lavs but that was not a problem. Last year we flew Premium Economy on Qantas whose large seats recline probably twice as far as standard economy and quite comfortable.
