They should call this seat the "thrombosis" seat. They call this an exit row - it is NOT except for the window seat, which has no seat in front of it. The other two are unbearable - especially "B". I am an average size woman. The person in front of me leaned back and I could not fully open my tray table - it is hinged- and I had to hold my book up to my face to read. This was the most miserable 3 hours of my life.

This airplane seat has 2 inches more pitch than layout 2 and it made a difference. I was able to cross my legs with no problem. It was only a snack flight (2.5 hrs) and the cheese tray was excellent. We also got warmed nuts. They serve Woodford Reserve bourbon, so I was happy.

There is a window, but it is in the forward half of the space, which does not allow the passenger to lean into it, thus reducing the shoulder width by several inches. I choose the window for those extra inches.

Seat 11D and 11E have underseat storage under row 10. Seats 11 A-C do not due to a large device blocking access to row 10. There is a small space for 11C but not much. Having flown this plane before the width's of the seats are definitely narrower than the other rows but I'm 5'11" and 220 lbs and I fit ok. The video monitor is on a swing arm and a little clunky and the tray tables come out of the arm rest. Legroom is very spacious and I couldn't even reach my bag under row 10 without getting up. 11D, E and 12F are the best seats on this plane.

Pros: You'll have legroom for miles, and the space is also easier to stand up/move around in. Cons: It's one of the narrower seats I have encountered on a plane. I don't know if that's the way all the seats in the aisle are; my partner was in 11A and he did not comment on it. Both the media screen and the tray fold out of some portion of the armrest and using both together feels so awkward. There is no under-seat storage because there is a large box that covers your seat and extends halfway across 11A and 11C.11A and 11C do both have under-seat storage, if truncated. There's also no direct overhead storage so you'll have to just find a spot in one of the other overhead bins and grab it before someone else does. The FA did help with this on our flight and even entering in Group 9, we were able to find spaces. Other Notes: The media screen folds out from between the seats and is easy to use, once you've figured out where the button release is (it's on the side of your armrest). 11A has a good view out the window.

On the A321 (ver 1), seats 24B and 24 E are substantially narrower that a typical seat, making this uncomfortable unless you are a small person. The leg room is nice, but it is also located near a labatory, so cwords can encroach on your space. I would NOT recommend this seat.

Simply dreadful. Hardly what one expects forward in the cabin. Barely any recline / only just slightly more than economy. The food was..., well, inedible - unless you're truly hungry. No USB ports, no electrical sockets of any sort - whatsoever, and no IFE - unless you're using your own device [which you can't re-charge]. American's product sure has declined.

I recently flew this aircraft up from Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic to Charlotte, North Carolina in seat A1 and can only say that this was hardly a 'first-class' seat and/or experience. The seat has virtually no greater pitch [38] than 'Main cabin extra' [35-36], though 1st does have 3 more inches of width [unless you're in a bullhead seat where the tray-table is stowed in the arm-rest, as in row 1]. Additionally, I couldn't fully extend my legs due to the proximity to the bulkhead and, of course, there's no under-seat storage during take-off nor landing. The heads were the smallest I've ever experienced on a twin-engine commercial flight - I mean tiny! If you're adult-sized - don't plan on their viability. Finally, OK, this wasn't a prime-/meal-time flight, however PUJ to CLT is a 4 hour [actual flight time - excluding boarding, taxiing, etc] flight and we were only offered chips, pretzels or cookies {with limited beverage options as well} - in '1st' class. Disgraceful. I felt truly sorry for the cabin staff that had to attempt to function in that minute galley. As a 'million-miler', I hate to see AA's product sink to such a low-level[s]. This is NOT value for money.

First class seat Row 1 is what you want if you are paying nd can choose. You have no one in front of you so you have a very relaxing and open area. You can put your feet on the bulkhead. V2 of the 321 ORD-LAX and commonly used to DFW and Hawaii. 14F is really tight, no foot space withe the entertainment box - Im 6'2 - but the entire 14DEF row should be yellow. Overwater equipment (and that's most/all aircraft) takes up the overhead bin over these seats, so its a real chafe to get your carry-ons stored. Avoid.

Flying on this A321S from DFW to Las Vegas. Row 11 is an exit row. 3 seats as A-B-C on the left, and D-E on the right, with 11F seat taken out. Row 11 A-E seats all have great leg room, much more than even the first class seats (we flew back on first class 4A & 4B). However the bag storage space above Row 11 is reserved for airplane emergency equipment. Because of this, 11D and 11E on the left side becomes more desirable because you can store small bags in the back of row 10, while such space is not quite accessible for 11 A-C.

DFW to LV - There is very little room to stow anything under the seat in front of you. Seat 19 E appeared to have the same problem. I'm short so leg room wasn't a problem. I use a small soft bag as a carry on and usually have no problem stowing it under the seat in front of me. At first I didn't think it was going to fit but after squishing it a bit I was able to make it work. There was just enough room left to stow my small purse.

American seatback entertainment one of the best, except you will get interrupted by AA credit card ad in early portion (cannot be muted). Main Cabin Extra so we had early boarding group 5 + easy access to overhead & quicker deplaning. Among first to get served snacks/drinks. I believe complimentary alcohol for those who's lives are that pathetic they have to drink everywhere. Seatback screen has a very limited viewing angle so a person to your side cannot really see what you are watching, but anyone behind and near sure can (and vice versa). MCE worth it for me.

One of the best seats on the entire plane in my opinion in regards to legroom, hands down. You do have to share your leg space with the FA during takeoff and landing but that was only about 20 minutes in total. My only qualms regarding the seat was that the power outlet for this seat is on the floor vs. all of the other seats having their on the seatbacks in front them, and this made it awkward with my seat neighbor. Also, the monitor which came out of the armrest wouldn't stay locked fully in place, however, these were minor issues for me. I'm 6'3 and wanted the legroom more than anything and that's exactly what I got. Made my four hour flight much more enjoyable.

First of all, this is a new A321S which DOES have electric outlets at each seat (contrary to what a previous commenter said) as well as in-seat entertainment monitors. The aircraft also features three bathrooms in coach, all of which are large enough for a man to stand up without hunching over. These are perhaps the largest bathrooms I have ever seen in the coach section of a plane. This Main Cabin Extra seat was fine...plenty of legroom. Row 11 would be even better and those exit row seats recline (Row 12 is not really an exit row even though designated as such.)

Con: Both 11 D, and 11 E are Sold by AA as Main Cabin Extra, However, due to the tray table & video screen being part of the arm rest these seats are uncomfortably narrow. The seat does not recline at all, & the seat becomes more uncomfortable as the flight progresses. The Flight Steward sits in a jump seat,facing the back of the plane, in the area of the "missing seat 11 F". Because your seats are in the middle of a row, you can't lean your head against anything, making any kind of nap very difficult. DFW TO LAX roundtrip. Flown this plane first in 25F, then again on A14. For A14, the overall width of the seat is tight, so moving side to side is impossible. Leg movement side-to-side is reduced 25% with the installation of a box that controls the seat's electronics. Picking up anything under the seat in front of you is impossible. MISERABLE and very uncomfortable experience.

Flew on this plane from Seattle to Dallas Fort Worth. Seat was really nice with the adjustable head rest but when the seat was fully upright it was extremely uncomfortable, legroom was pretty dismal. IFE bad a decent selection but it forced you to watch two 30 second ads (youtube style) before your movie starts which I hated. Eventually I just switched to the moving map the whole flight. Service was average at most, FAs were nice but didn't seem very interested. Lavatory was directly behind so I heard the toilet flush the whole time but no smell. I say a 7/10

The exit row seats (row 11) have tons of legroom and a large overhead bin. The bulkhead seats have the inflight entertainment on the bulkhead in front of each passenger. There are large metal boxes where we place our feet, cutting down on space to put a carryon bag. The seats are narrow, but a few inches more room, which is why we paid extra for the seats. My husband is 64 and he has about 3 inches between his knee and the seat in front of him with the seat up. That would change if the passenger reclined the seat. All the seats in MCE seem to have the same amount of legroom.

I paid the fee for Main Cabin Extra for the "amenities", but was terribly disappointed. The seats were hard and uncomfortable, and the newer A320s have reduced seat width. The biggest issue is the media box on the floor attached to the chair legs. DO NOT get a window seat on this aircraft - I could not even fit my backpack under the seat in front because of the limited under-seat space between curvature of the aircraft wall and media box. 11D & 11E are exit row seats (there is no 11F) with enormous legroom. There *is* ample room to store a backpack, briefcase, etc. beneath the seat(s) in front of you in row 10. I flew United to MCO & returned on AA. First, I fly with my small dog on occasion. BTW, he's not an emotional service animal. I pay his fare every time. I think he should get a FF # actually. I always take a window seat with him. His carrier slides under the seat in front of me. Previously I found the fit under the aisle seat (2B) much tighter. But in this seat there is some type of fitting/covering on the legs of the seat in front of you. It narrows the width opening by a good couple inches. I'm not sure he would make it now. Could be a problem in the future. The plane is new, bright, clean and I had a nice flight. I'm 5'8", the leg room is OK. But, I do have serious worries regarding my dogs future flights. He's not going under the plane & I won't leave him at home. I'll look at other airplanes and Airlines. Technically he's a paying customer!

I flew first class from Los Angeles to Miami and then back from Miami to Los Angeles. I had the second version of Airbus 321 aircraft, where there are four rows of seats in first class, with two seats on each side of the aisle. The Airbus 321 is a smaller aircraft. I'm a little over 6'5" and I must say this was the least amount of leg space that I've ever had on a first class flight. There was enough room, but I think the leg space in this arrangement is equivalent to what coach leg space used to be in the glorious past days of flying. The in flight entertainment monitors are on the back of the seat in front of you. If the passenger should tilt the seat back, you need to pull the bottom of the monitor out so that the monitor isn't facing your legs. The seat cushion was not padded very well and became slightly uncomfortable during the flight. The meal they served for lunch was fabulous. They also had hot fudge sundaes and warm chocolate cookies. American Airlines flies the 777-300 from LAX to MIA. We had one person on our cruise who flew business class and loved their pod seats. I would recommend that you book the 777 if you are flying Los Angeles to Miami.

The work horse of the busy domestic routes, the 321-V2, get a heavy traffic load. Accordingly, the seats have a lot of pelvises wearing out the cushions. Even in Business Class the seat cushion is thin. Recline is as advertised 38 degrees, doesn't help much. But hey, the economy seats are certainly no better. Industry employees and engineers can add what comments they can about replacing the seat cushion every......500-1000 air hours? Even when I scanned my boarding pass they asked if I was willing and able to assist in the event of an emergency. Flew this plane MIA to LAX and noticed that both 11D and 11E in front of me reclined, quite a bit to the point I could barely see the screen. Hands down 12F is the best seat in MCE. No one in front of you and you have enough room to go out to the aisle in front of row 11. It also seemed the monitors in row 11 and 12F are slightly larger than the normal monitors as they are not in the seat back.

It is difficult to understand how there could be any positive reviews of these economy seats. I wish I had a measuring tape on the plane, as I am skeptical about the 18 inch width cited on Seatguru. This was the narrowest seat I have ever experienced. Also, the armrests are barely an inch wide, so the space between passengers is further limited. I am not very tall, but the leg room was almost non-existent. While there is a video screen on the back of each seat, my eyes could not focus on it because it was just a few inches from my face. Since the middle seat was also occupied by an adult, I spent the entire flight leaning into the aisle, and I was continually chastised by the FAs going back and forth.

Travelling 1st class in the red-eye from Honolulu to Los Angeles, seat 1A has legroom that is significantly impaired by the bulkhead. Completely different from 3F were I was sitting on my way to HNL and which was very comfortable. Suddenly I could understand why people put ther feet against the bulkhead as after a few hours you don't know where to put them anymore. Just a few inches extra would be great, especially considering this is 1st class. Also, some cabin crew in the front galley were extremely chatty throughout the night and my wife had to ask them to be a bit more quiet as we couldn't sleep. The chief-flight attendant was very kind and helpful by the way.

Sat in this seat OGG-LAX. Leg room and knee room is fantastic. Seat width is greatly reduced vs regular coach seats, and is downright painful. The description of AA's First Class seats on their 32B's as recliners is one more example of AA's deceptive advertising practices for the last few years. From stating they have the newest fleet (four years before they would even be flying the planes), our experience did not match their advertising descriptions. The First Class seats are a combination of the back reclining maybe 3" and the seat sliding forward again maybe 3", the resulting position being both uncomfortable and narrow.

Flew LAX to MCO on 9/23/16 in seat 13 F. While AA charges extra for this, it is NOT a MCE seat! Seats 13 A,B,C, are MCE with noticeably more legroom. Row 14 is NOT MCE! Window seat with good view out of window. I felt this seat was a little cramped. When seat 12F fully reclined I felt like it was in my face! Seat back video monitor with so-so choices of movies, games and music. There is storage over row 12, but as mentioned, there is a life raft in bin over row 13. Across the aisle over row 11/12 there is also emergency equipment so no storage there either. Under the seat in front of this row there are 3 boxes, 2 under center seat, 1 on aisle seat. Limits your under seat storage or leg room. Row 11 is an exit row and there is no seat in front of 12F giving that seat extra leg room. Row 8 is first row in MCE and there is a hard wall in front of this. Seats have video monitors in arms making less width in these seats. Last row is 36 and those seats DO NOT RECLINE. Seat layout chart is accurate, read comments, this plane has some odd configurations and not all seats are equal. In standard economy the seats have limited recline and felt more narrow than other aircraft. This was a newer plane and I felt the seat comfort was fine. I was very warm in this part of the plane and I was uncomfortable. There was a power port for charging phones and laptops in front of me. Tray tables are small and when person in front of you fully reclines there is NO room for a laptop to be open. Bring your own earphones as they are not provided! No charge for movies, I did not use WIFI but it is an option (for a fee)

I despise the three and three arrangement. I prefer the aisle seat. I'm an average size man, but my shoulders are still to broad to fit in the confines of the seat. But getting the aisle is not always possible. When both of my shoulders are touching other people, it makes me feel claustrophobic. The space between my chest and the seat back in front of me felt much to close. There seems to be more room on Boeing 737s and 757s than on a Airbus (bus being the operative word here).

I took a flight from DFW-SJU, It was worth paying the extra $78 for main cabin extra, I got two windows, enough space (5'11", 220lbs) for myself, the seat reclined a bit more than older models and also the seat itself moved forward to add more recline, the entertaining system was great. Saw movies and t.v. shows from the moment I sat on the chair to moment the doors opened for debarkation. I was able to charge my phone either from the USB from the monitor or the plug under the seat. The plane looked cleaned but from close inspection I could tell it needed a deep cleaning

Some other comments are mistakenly for the old USAir 321 configuration. This is a new configuration - great IFE, powerports etc., but seat has thin padding, and to me seems lower shoulder height than some other F seats. The aircraft was spotless and appeared brand new, The "First Class: seat was very similar to that offered on the 737-800. However, the solid bulkhead reduced the legroom to the point that it was impossible to get comfortable. I am 5'11", you may want to consider sitting behind this seat and take the risk of someone reclining if you are taller. My colleague in 1A commented that it was the most uncomfortable seat she had ever experienced.

24D and 24E are great for legroom. However, on long flights, the proximity to the lavatory makes for a miserable experience. People decide itm is perfectly OK to line up or wait for the lavatory in the space directly in front of these seats. I had a parade of people's rear ends in front or to the side of me for half the flight, bumping into me, my laptop, effectively convincing me two hours into the flight never to sit there again.

Seats 14A and 14C are horribly cramped. This is a main cabin extra and is horrible! Virtually no leg room at all. My wife is 5 feet 3 inches tall and there was not enough room for her to bend over and tie her shoe; same for me and I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall. The seat in front of me reclined and I was trapped. I put a magazine on the tray table and there wasn't enough room for me to turn the pages normally; I had to slide each page over. The storage area on the seatback is very small, much smaller than on other planes. This is my first experience flying on this aircraft, and I will avoid this aircraft at all costs in the future. When making a reservation, I will check the type of plane, and I will NOT fly on this aircraft again.

I think this seat is standard, so it shouldn't be yellow. The lavatories didn't really bother me. Otherwise, this plane is really good for Economy. at 5'10, this was a good plane to be on. Seats 25 B,C,E,D are marketed as exit seats and priced as preferred seats. They show up as exit rows on your ticket, but have standard leg room, because the real exit row is row 24. This row lacks the window and aisle seats, so that only 25A and 25F have extra leg space, but not B,C,D,E. Buyer beware!

12D is booked as an exit row seat according to the American website but it is NOT an exit row seat. Though it might be considered Main Cabin Extra, this seat is only an inch or two longer than the main cabin seats and the least legroom of any MCE row. I do NOT recommend this seat. The only MCE seats of any decent size are rows 11 forward. Row 11 has an enormous amount. I did not go aft to look at the rear MCE seats.

This plane is vastly comfier than American's B738. The extra inch of seat width is really noticeable; the plane is new and modern; you and you get a great IFE system. I didn't find the underseat equipment box to be in the way at all, but I wasn't trying to store any bags there at the same time. I'm 5'10/ 160, and thought that the seat was as comfy as you could hope to find in economy. Seriously, a really well done interior.. I wish they would replace every 737 in their fleet with these!

A decent bulkhead row seat, not the most spacious in the world but nothing to complain about. If anything, my biggest issue was with the extra padded seat belt, which further reduced the seat width when paired with the immovable armrests. There's a magazine pouch in front of the seat which provides a bit of storage, and the screen isn't terrible, though all I did was watch the flight info since I bring my own entertainment.

I flew on this flight from Boston Logan to Dallas Forth Worth. I was very excited to see that American had installed the new entertainment system on their new A321's. Each seat had it's own personal tv. The tv also has a usb outlet so you can plug your electronics in and another jack as well (although it takes a long time for it to charge up your electronics than if they were plugged into a standard wall outlet.) My favorite part was the map system. AA uses a 3d mapping system where you can see the plane moving in 3 dimensions. The flight path is projected in 3 dimensions as well. This is especially helpful for landing to see which track you are taking. This is something that I have never seen in any other airline. I was too cheap to buy the movie package at $4.99 but for a 4 or 5 hour flight, it would probably be worth it. it also comes loaded with music and games (which also cost money.) Originally I was in seat 35 F but then switched my seat the night before to seat 20E. I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough overhead space to put my bag if I was in the back. This was false. There was plenty of room. This seat was a good choice, because it is centrally located in the aircraft. Although the lavatory is relatively close, I didn't notice it much at all.

Even though these are premium exit row seats and there is a row of seats in front of you, the stern AA F/A indicated that you could NOT store ANY carryon underneath the seat in front of you because this was an exit row. She indicated this was an FAA restriction. BUYER BEWARE if you select this premium product seat. You'll have legroom but your carryover has to be stored in an overhead. Also, the overheads immediately above these seats have emergency equipment so you either have to store your bags forward or behind you. If behind, you're swimming upstream to try to get your bag and carryon as passengers are exiting.

These seats are miserable for the nearly 6 hours you are in them. AA has a lot of nerve charging first class prices for them. Also, you cannot tell from their online info OR from calling an agent whether this flight is the upgraded A321 or the old one. I was told it is upgraded, lie flat seats. It is NOT. It is old, uncomfortable and I cannot see that it is much better than coach, which is 1/3 the price. Also note, the seats do not actually recline, they sort of move up like a barcalounger with no footrest, more comfortable upright. Meals consist of a bag of chips on takeoff and a plate of fruit and yoghurt 2 hours before arrival. On an overnight flight.

There is a solid partition to the floor and immovable armrests. You can not extend your legs or adjust by moving the armrest. The partition is to close and it is a shame they call this a main cabin extra seat.

As others have said, the economy seats in this plane are very uncomfortable and inhumanely cramped. i have flown over a million miles and this seat is the worst i have ever been in. the male flight attendent had to push the seat to get it to recline uding the wall for support and had to do the same with other seats in first. the second leg of my trip i had a similar seat location with the exact opposite result, everytime i moved the seat would slide into or out of the reclining position. american should be imprisoned for fraud for selling trash like this for first class seating.

I think the bulkhead seats at row 8 needs to be classified as mixed review. The wall at 8ABC is closer to you than the wall at 8DEF. Regardless, you will not be able to stretch your legs out, but you do get knee room. The 8A second window is between the bulkhead dividing first class and economy, and the pax in first reached back and slammed the window shut. The IFE was not operational for this flight.

My wife and I flew round-trip PHX-DFW on this model A321 (AA calls it A321S). Do not confuse this model with the older USAir version. We had reserved 14C and 14D to be across from each other. The AA and SeatGuru seat maps do not show that these rows in the 11 to 15+ area are offset by approximately a half row. You are not truly directly across. Not a big deal but it would be nice if the maps were accurate. Row 14 is not MCE but the space was OK as the passengers in the seat ahead did not recline their seats on either segment. I did not recline mine either and it was tolerably comfortable for the 2 hour flight. The interactive flight display provided some welcome entertainment/distraction. The cockpit view was a nice variation. The seatback in front has both power and headphone jack connections under the screen. The inflight entertainment boxes under the seats reduce available storage space slightly. Typical flight noise in takeoff and cruise, but the most rattles and shaking I've ever heard upon landing. There's a life raft in the overhead bin over row 13 reducing bin space in the area. I still prefer the 2 seat side of an MD80 but this was an OK experience.

This comment is also valid for 2A and 2C across the aisle. There is effectively very little under seat storage space in front of row 2 in the AA 321 V2. This is because there is a very large and obtrusive electronic box under the Row 1 seats, plus two seat anchor brackets. Thus what space that does exist is broken up into small chunks. My wife and I were unable to put even a modest sized article under there. A purse is about all that would fit.

This seat was sold to us as an exit row by the airline but it is not, only one seat is. This seat had am armrest that is not movable because it is next to the one actual exit seat.

Tray tables are in the armrest making it a bit snug for larger people. Nice entertainment system, but both myself and my wife had to reset ours to get them to work. My touchscreen wasn't responding and her's kept saying it was downloading content. Luckily the FA helped us out. The new A321SL is a nice plane and made going back to a B738 feel like a downgrade.

DFW-JFK. Plenty of legroom, even for someone who's 6'2". Comfy seat, great IFE, and decent amount of storage space. Best domestic (non-transcon) first out of the big 3 major airlines.

Seats in coach are ridiculously cramped. If someone in front reclines it could hit you in the face. It also takes forever to load this airplane. It's worse than a 757 leaving Orlando. There is a call button on the screen that people keep pushing, mainly because they just love pushing ALL the buttons. The attendant made an announcement almost pleading with people not to push it. Unless you are in First or MCE, this is not a pleasant experience at all. If you are on a flight over 2 hours consider upgrading or something else.

This seat is decent, however the tray table sticks out toward you quite a bit more than needed, due to the fact that there is a space behind the tray table for magazines, and the tray table folds in on itself. There is in-flight entertainment on this plane. I was able to fit my guide dog under the seat in front of me without any issue, which has become more of a concern with the large IFE boxes particularly on the American 737s. I don't recall if there was an IFE box under the seat in front of me at all.

I was quite impressed with the first class on this Airbus aircraft on a really good flight from DFW-LAX. Legroom was good, the personal entertainment screen froze a bit but it was reset and it was all ok.

We flew out of DFW to LAS! I couldn't believe how nice this plane was! I sat by the window. It was a night time flight! I know I have a hard time describing about how the plane was but it was terrific! Touch screen with interactive flight map on the back to see where you were! It had the food for puchase menus on the touch screen and beverage menu too! I was in economy class! The seats were comfortable! I am really proud how American kept up with there fleet. I am glad they are getting rid of the MD80s and going with planes that are lesser fuel, but this plane was an exception. I give this plane 5 stars for American and window seat was nice on this plane!!!!

Row 11 may have the most leg room on the plane... I can't touch the seat in front of me even if I fully extend my legs. But the catch is you have no storage under the seat in front of you because it's an exit row and the overhead compartment on both sides is marked "no stowage" due to first aid, oxygen, fire extinguishers, flight attendant stuff, etc. So you're forced to use an adjacent bin. It's probably not a major problem since you're most likely one of the first to board if you have this seat. But, it's still an inconvenience. Also can't watch TV or movies during takeoff/landing since it needs to be stowed in the armrest.

My wife and I had the good fortune to fly the new 32B as a replacement for the S80 scheduled for this flight. I was really pumped to experience the latest 1st class offer from AA. Unfortunately, the 32B is a disappointment. Starting with spooling the engines, the plane is loud and it vibrates a lot. Not at all like a quieter 737. But that's not all! Backing from th34 gate, the brakes rubbed/vibrated so much, I wondered whether the plane was fit to fly. We were flying from DFW-DEN on a regular sort of day, CLR in DFW and BRKN clouds on our approach into DEN. What I noticed was our really bumpy ride in. This planes likes to bounce around, not sure why, but seems unlike the 737-800 which seems to ride bumpy air better. We were all pretty darn happy to land, to hear those clunking sounds of the landing gear and the vibration of the brakes engaging. After all the hype of the 321 transcon, I had high expectations, now I'm not so sure I want another flight on this aircraft.

First time flying the AA A321 regular cabin, nice and clean looking. Seat 1A is nice, legroom not too bad and seat comfy. Not sure how economy fares but ignore the daft comments about Airbus packing the seats in, American chose the seating configuration not the manufacturer.

The seats at 12DEF are considered exit seats because they have direct access to an exit. It has nothing to do with the amount of leg room - the real exit row is 11 ABC/DE. This is where you will have the most legroom. Again row 25ABC/DEF is the same as mentioned above, it is merely because they have direct access to the exit. Also when it comes to being "cramped" the 321 is actually similar in size the 757 with a 5" difference in length but a 6" difference in width - meaning the 321 is 5" shorter but 6" wider..... The Recaro seats on the Airbus also improve comfort as the whole seat reclines, bottom cushion as well as back, not just the back.

Every seat except the premium seats are cramped. For longer flights upgrade for a premium seat on any flight over three hours. Airbus packs them in! Very tight coach seating! If you want space select Boeing aircraft! If it aint Boeing we aint going! LOL

The standard Coach Class/Main Cabin seat. Extra legroom if you stretch your legs out toward the aisle. Seatback TV Movie options cost money on Domestic flights but are free on International flights. Recline is standard, 3" of recline. The tray table is better than most tray tables on mot planes. Love the 3 x 3 seat arrangement and not the 2 x 3 x 2 seat arrangement. Overall, the plane is your standard narrowbody jet with seatback TV. Seat Pros: Extra legroom if stretched legs toward aisle. Cons: It can get noisy due to proximity to the engine. Seat overall rating: 8.3/10

As a frequent traveler I'm very disappointed in the exit rows on these new planes. I always booked the 2nd exit row near wing and was very content. 2nd exit row on these new planes is not the same at all. 12E had half the storage space as aisle seat under the seat - not enough for my laptop bag. Leg room not even close to old exit rows. Seat pocket was barely big enough to fit a water bottle. Tried to use my laptop and pitch was so limited I couldn't see my screen and finally gave up. 11B lots of legroom but NO storage space under seat. It's basically a bulk head seat as the seats in front as so far away you can't reach them & they won't let you use the under seat for storage. Overheads are filled with emergency equipment so you have to go several rows away to access your bags - no room to store anything. Both rows are horrible now for the frequent business traveler. VERY disappointed with American now.

It was my observation that both 11D and 11E were narrower than the same seats in rows 10 and 12. For the record, I sat in 12F and your comments for that seat are right on -- it's probably the best coach seat on the plane.

These new A321s a a big improvement on the 757's and even 737's. The in-seat entertainment in First Class is phenomenal, and because Airbus cabins are a little wider, I found it very easy to sleep against the wall (there's a good 5" of space there). For those in economy, AA has gone with Airbus' standard 18" seat, almost 1" bigger than the 737 which is 17.2. They can't replace their old planes with these new ones fast enough as I am concerned.

This was my first time on the "new" A321B in seat 3F. The seat was typical wide for domestic first. However, the seat pitch being at 38 really showed in real life when using the seat as it seemed very tight and claustrophobic. Was glad to be in first on another AA Boeing plane.
