The first row of eco. has good legroom. You won't be able to strech your legs all the way but those planes are normally used for short hauls, so it's not so bad. It's a good seat if you don't mind looking at a partition. For me, it's much better than having someone in front of me reclining its seat all the way.

this has been squeezed in, no recline and several inches closer to the row ahead. I wonder if it's even safe as you couldn't possibly lean forward in an emergency and if the person ahead of you reclines the seat is an inch or two from your face. at minimum, this seat should not be sold and only used in overbooking situations.

I really enjoyed this seat. Having a seat on the left side is a huge plus as it is by itself. While the map currently says this seat lacks legroom I disagree. I am 6'4" and found is very comfortable. I honestly believe you have more knee space and maybe even an extra legroom over rows 2 and 3.

The worst seat on the plane. Tight leg room, tray will touch your body. Apparently, AC added an extra row at the back and this is the result. Avoid his seat at all costs.

These planes are getting old and the seats in particular look a bit battered, although still comfortable. The breakfast on the plane was very disappointing and the lavatory at the front is so small as to be almost unusable if you're taller than six feet (as I am). I can't wait to see these planes leave the fleet.

Best seat in Business Class. No one in front to recline into your space. Overhead bins on this side are pitiful. Best board early to stow your bag on the other side. Aircraft is showing its age (to be replaced by Bombardier C-Series). Surprisingly good hot meal and a decent selection of wines. Excellent service.

The seat has a very small overhead compartment and a metal bar blocking the under seat storage area. Even regular sized carry ons do not fit.

Seat 1A in Business Class was excellent from Toronto to New York - LaGuardia. Contrary to the comment on this seat, it did not feel like there was any restricted legroom, and I am 6'3" so I would certainly have noticed a cramped fit. The onboard service was wonderful, especially considering it's barely an hour in the air on this flight. Food was excellent and drink service exceeded my expectations. I will choose this seat again if it is available on my next flight to Toronto.

Excellent seat. in fact, I prefer it to the business class seat. There is more overhead bin space. Although I have not broken out a tape measure, it feels much more spacious than the business class seat on the same aircraft. Definitely worth booking.

The seat does recline. However because there is a bulkhead behind the seat the aircrew does not require the seat be put up on take off and landing so a new passenger may think the seat doesn't recline.

Though this seat is forward of the overwing exit, the legroom seemed like it was about the same as the others in standard economy. When the guy in front of me reclined, it reduced the legroom to essentially zero (I am 6'). With limited seat recline in this row, it did not make for a comfortable trip. Also, I should mention that the overhead bins are not as deep as a 737 or A320 (though they are larger than an RJ) so most standard size bags have to fit length-wise. I boarded in the middle of the pack on a full flight, and there was almost no overhead space left. I would recommend doing whatever you can to board earlier if you're bringing a standard-size carry on.

The AC staff upgraded me to Premium without an additional charge for my flight YYZLGA. At 6'4" the legroom was beyond adequate, even for a tall person. It's difficult to board as the cabin is shorter than typical jets, and the overhead space is tight, but it was an easy flight for the 1 hour down to New York.

I am 6'1" and have flown this aircraft many times in standard and exit row seats, and have had only positive comments. On my most recent flight, I was seated in 20C, one row behind the exit row. I swear this row has less knee/leg room in order to create the space for the exit row. On this flight, the inconsiderate 5"4" "gentleman" in the exit row in front of me, reclined his seat fully. I was virtually locked in, the video screen in front was so close I couldn't see it properly, my tray touched my body, and all in all a very unpleasant 3.5 hr flight. So, bottom line I would rate this row RED in case you have inconsiderate people in front of you. A recommendation is for Air Canada to restrict the recline for exit rows - they have enough leg room and space as it is.

At 6'2" I was not looking forward to a 5 hour flight on something smaller than a 737/319...What a nice surprise! Lots more legroom (this "preferred" seat would have been worth it even if I would have had to pay more for it) than on a recent A380 BA economy class torture flight...2-2 seating wonderful...so quite I didn't use my headphones most of the flight...very nice entertainment system. Service was very good. I would fly this airplane and seat again anytime.

90 minute flight. I am 6'4" and this seat was awful for my size. Lacking lumbar support. My knees were hard against the seat in front with the tendon below my kneecaps getting bruised from the metal wire at the top of the chair back pocket. Because of the awkward knee room I couldn't shift and but butt started to go numb. I suspect these are older seats not the newer "slim-line" seats airlines are bringing out. Air Canada should replace the seat pitch measurement which does not factor in the thickness of the seat back with a true knee room measurement (front of seat to back of next seat) on every seat. Give us the information so we can select seats that adequately fit us.

Excellent plane for Short-Haul. Highly recommended vs 320s 737s (although AC does not currently own 737s). They will go out of service soon, to be replaced by 737s.

seats in Row 3 have very limited recline. Row 1 by comparison reclines twice as much as Row 3. Row 3 was very uncomfortable to rest for a business class seat. Very disappointed.

Good legroom in the emergency aisle, no obstructions under the chairs in front, the exterior wall is flat - it doesn't curve in at the feet as in a B737. Nice seat width. Tray touches my knees slightly when lowered. Only negative is the headrest is fixed to the chair. I am 193cm so the fixed headrest hits behind my shoulders and I ended up sitting with a curved back - tolerable for 1 hour but a lumbar pillow would be essential on any longer flight.
