Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + Personal Items

On all Vietnam Airlines flights, each economy passenger is allowed one (1) carry-on bag and additional personal items. The carry-on hand luggage must not weigh more than 7 kilograms and the external dimensions (H+L+W) must not exceed 115 centimeters. Business passengers may carry two (2) carry-on bags with the same size and weight requirements. The personal items include: ladies purse, blanket, overcoat, walking cane, camera, binoculars, photo equipment, video/laptop computer, items consumed by infants during the flight, baby cot, or wheelchair/crutches/prostheses.

REMINDER: Bulkhead seats do not have underseat storage during take-off and landing.

Checked Baggage

For flights within Asia:

  • Business Class- 30 kg
  • Economy Class- 20 kg

For flights to/from Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Australia:

  • Business Class- 40 kg
  • Economy Class- 30 kg

For flights to/from the Americas:

Business and Economy Class- Two 23 kg bags with maximum dimensions of 158 cm (62 in)

Sports Equipment

Vietnam Airlines allows the carriage of golf equipment, ski equipment, surfboards, and scuba diving equipment. Make sure to follow the proceeding guidelines:

  • Golf sets- includes one golf bag holding a maximum of 14 golf clubs weighing no more than 20 kg
  • Snow ski sets- includes one pair of skis, one pair of ski poles, and a pair of ski boots
  • Scuba Equipment- includes a scuba cloth, breathing tube, pair of screws, and a diving mask
