All Alitalia B777 aircraft feature a three-class cabin configuration: the Business Class cabin with seats that convert to flat-beds, the private Premium Economy cabin, and the refreshed Economy Class cabin.

The Business Class cabin on new 777-200 aircrafts is configured 1-2-1, offering all-aisle seating. Business Class seats offer in-seat work station capabilities, with PC power plugs and USB ports, and large 15.4” LCD screens to access vast personal entertainment options.

The private Premium Economy cabin available on new 777-200 aircrafts offers a variety of benefits including more legroom and greater seat pitch than regular Economy Class. The previous comments was wrong. The seat reclined better than the other row, so I could enjoy good commfortability and the space in front was normal. Economy class. Flying Rome-Santiago-Rome we got the old style of everything on the flight out and were hoping they only have one so old plane. Might be correct as on the way back it was better. On the way back the entertainment box was slimmer, the screen was bigger with better resolution (photos here have both new and old screens - old ones are with remote, new ones with touchscreen). The seat was quite comfortable, but I didn't like the dirty window. For food we could choose between pasta and veg+meat. The latter was tasty enough. Breakfast was one small muffin only though. Headphones, pillow and blanket on both flights.

A seats are not good as they all have the entertainment boxes, take half of the space under the previous chair. But I always want window and am myself quite slim, so it was not that bad. The entertainment system is like from >10 years ago, I didn't even know they still have these old small resolution screens. They do hand out earphones, but mines were too silent, had to put the sound un max for film. And I didn't even finish watching one while normally I watch 3-4 on long fights - the quality was too terrible and didn't bring any enjoyment. Food also could be better. At least the flight attendants were nice.

one of the worst flights I've ever taken. very old plane, not so clean. legs space is stolen by a big box under the seats. the head rest didn't stay up. Entertainment system is completely outdated, small screen with no clear vision, sometimes didn't even work and crew had to reset it multiple time. Headphone connector was not working good, nor the remote control. Avoid this flight please.

There is a box under the seat in front that occupies half the normal foot space. You have to put your feet on both sides of the box. The seat itself has a head rest that raises to accommodate taller people. The head rest would not stay up. I had to keep reaching behind me to raise the headrest.

Wonderful seat. Very private, and little to no disturbance from kitchen. (Crew keeps curtain closed to avoid light transmission.)Seat is set well back from the aisle, so there is no jostling as crew passes by. Very comfortable for sitting and sleeping, with room for knees of side-sleepers. Crew was attentive and food was terrific. If you're travelling alone, this is the best seat in the cabin. Only carps are: (1) AC power is provided, but no USB power; (2) video screen is low-resolution and using the wired remote takes some trial and error; (3) seat massager is more of a vibrator. NOTE: Seat Guru map is not correct. On the left side, even rows are closer to the window; and the rear mini-cabin, the last row in Business is 11, not 10.

I flew Alitalia from Rome to Mexico City and back for the second time now. (first in 2016). Nothing has changed. Very old economy cabin. Entertainment system with copyright logos from 2001. No touchscreen, no charging port, only really bad 144p screen with a barely working remote control. Seat was awful, my headrest would keep on falling down which would wake me up when I tried to sleep. Dinner service was good but breakfast and other snacks were disgusting. Unless you are flying higher than economy, then I do not recommend. Also, watch out for seats with limited legroom due to the outdated entertainment boxes with outdated movies.

Surprisingly comfortable flight. Just enough leg room for me (at 185cm / 6'1"). This made it an overall good experience for me. A lot of head rests did not seem to stay in place, however (we switched rows because of this). Entertainment system is old and screen/audio is lousy. Both didn't matter too much to me. Also noticed the issue with the boxes under the seat in front for rows A/E/G/L - definitively to be avoided.

The 30" pitch on Alitalia is abysmal. I've been in other 30" pitch seats and these are just a mess. The only saving grace is a cup holder and an knob to hang things with a strap. The seats were older style, so there was a hand controller for the small screen that doubled as the phone . Under each seat is a Box that takes up way too much room. I love the 777 but these are old and tired. When the guy in front of me leaned back i basically could have given him a head massage. I flew back on a Delta A330 with 31" of pitch and it was a lot better.

Probably the most horrible long haul flight I've ever had! The seats are hard, your neck is angled unnaturally, and when the person in front of you reclines there is literally no where to move. In addition, the entertainment box encompasses at least half of the area where your feet should go and forces you into an extremely uncomfortable spread. Avoid at all costs!

I do not understand why 20K and 20L are marked as green: they are just standard economy seats and the absence of the row ahead makes no difference. In fact, 20L has restricted leg room due to the position of an electronic equipment box located under 18L (the same apply to all A, E, G, L seats in economy, that should be red!). Instead, seats 18A, B, K, L and 19D, E, G, H should be green, as they have a lot of leg room.

The premium economy seats are wider and have more legroom and comfortable cushions. Row 16 has no seats behind it, so no one will bump into your seat back and you can recline your seat all the time. The personal LCD screens can play a large selection of films and the screens are very large (except for row 14 which has a smaller screen that comes out of the armrest.) This section is separated from the other sections by walls in the front and back, so it feels more quiet and private. They give you real silverwares and glass cups instead of plastics during your meal.

I changed my seat from 19H to 20K because of the reviews on Seat Guru. Unfortunately I have to say that 20K is not at all a green. Yes, you do have more space than the rest of economy BUT you are in the middle seat which is TERRIBLE. Row 18/19 are infinitely better.

I sat on the seat from Sao Paulo to Rome, 12h. I think that this seat is way better than any other economy seat on this plane (except for emergency exits and seats that also have a bulkhead in the front). You have enough space to stretch your legs, you can stand up and stretch your body, you can go to the bathroom without having to ask the passenger next to you to stand up.

There are 2 different setups for the business class of this aircraft. The more modern one with a large screen, touch remote and onboard Wifi. And an older one, with a small old style screen, cable remote and no onboard wifi. I did experience both recently and was pretty much wondering about the difference in comfort over all. While the modern setup was extremly comfortable and quite, the older setup you could notice the difference a lot, the seat making noises while moving, way more outside noise getting into the cabin and the entire setup looks slightly more worn out. But all in all both business class long hauls were amazing and total worth the extra money, compared to economy.

I flew from Rome to Mexico City in the seat 19C. The flight was a nightmare for the terrible service of the crew but also because of the dimensions and the position of the seat. The space was too small (B777 is made for 3-3-3 seat configuration not for 3-4-3!) and, above all, the seat was at the and of the aisle and before a bend: the passengers and also the crew stepped on my feet and legs all the time. Terrible seat indeed!

Buenos Aires - Fiumicino: 12 hours of flight which may be a dream in good conditions or a nightmare. In the so called "magnifica class", it is close to a dream. Seats of type A and L are very good for single traveler, close to window and far from the aisle and its disturbances. Full flat is much better than the angle flat that for instance AF has on many flights. Good food and service. Minus points: two lavatories for 30 seats is not a lot. IFE is completely outdated (need two complete restarts to function correctly, screen is old, not of touch-type, remote control is basic).

Very uncomfortable seat, hardly any legroom. IFE did not work although they reset it. Hard seat, cramped and really difficult to get out. Service depended on the flight attendant. If you didn't ask for coffee, the male attendant just walked past in a hurry. It's a shame really. The 3 4 3 configuration is not at all practical.

I flew between Buenos Aires and Roma on a boing 777 and I wont recommand that experience. As said by others customers, there is no room for your legs if you have a metal box under the seat and the the headrest is not designed for tall person. Beside that the quality of the screen is poor as the sound of the headphones. Better bring your own headphones if you expect to ear something.

Entertainment system is not that impressive, the flight tracking did not work and choice of movies is rather limited compared to e.g. KLM. Overall good flight.

There is a big metal box Just below the front seat where you should putad your shoes. You must open your legs to stretch them.

Wanted the direct flight from FCO to LAX. The good: v friendly attendants. The bad: pretty much everything else. These are the most cramped and uncomfortable seats I can recall. Narrow, no leg room or "wiggle" room. The headrest pitches you forward and hurts your back and neck. The entertainment module takes up most of the leg room in front of 42A. Compares poorly to the Air France A380 flight I took there, and the China Airlines flight I took earlier this year (all economy). The cabin was stuffy/warm, and the food was terrible. Seriously, they messed up *pasta*?? I am a very frugal person but if I had to do it over I'd either pony up premium economy....or fly a different airline....

By far the least comfortable seats I ever had the misfortune to sit in. Not only has Alitalia the skinniest seats in 777s, but the headrest keeps your neck in an unnaturally forward position. The fact that they were dirty as well did little to help. The 777 being a relatively new aircraft the dated entertainment system and the lack of power (USB or other) was also disappointing.

Avoid Alitalia. The IFE is good, but the equipment box under nearly every seat is ruinous to comfort. The food was disgusting, the people were even nastier (toilets are gonna contain poop, after all), I wont fly them ever again. Seats were uncomfortable too.

Long flight from Rome to Jfk. I sat in seat 24e, and unfortunately there was an entertainment box right beneath the seat, restricting space for my backpack, and also of my legroom. In addition to all of this, the seat was really uncomfortable and had an entertainment system that kept on shutting down and freezing.

We flew on this plane on May 21st, 2015 from LAX to Rome. There is a metal box below seat 19A and in front of seat 19A which eliminates any legroom for the passenger. Extremely uncomfortable and cramped seat. Getting in and out of the row was arduous and required acrobatics due to the extreme lack of space between the seat rows even for a fit and trim person. The tray table was broken. The in-seat entertainment system was old and had limited capabilities. The seat was an inhumane seat for any flight, but especially for a 12 hour flight.

Standard coach seats are pretty bad. They have thin padding. The upright position is completely vertical, and there is a two-inch thick headrest that shoves your head forward uncomfortably. The headrest will not stay raised, so every time you move your head it falls down to a painful mid-neck location. There was barely adequate knee room for a six-footer. Agonizing to occupy these seats for 12 hours. Also the plane wasn't very clean, the food was poor and the staff was surly.

Flew JFK-FCO on an overnight flight. Seats were comfortable - amenity kit, pillow, and duvet provided. Seat even had a massage function. Food was delicious and seemed to never quit coming. Flight attendants were friendly. Got about 4 hours of sleep between dinner and breakfast. We both have Bose Noise Cancelling earbuds and they blocked out any noise but in general the noise level was acceptable even without them.

In the economy section of this aircraft the entertainment system's kit is store under the seats A, E, G, L and that kit takes about a third of the space where the pax feet would rest

I selected this seat because it was supposed to be good, but it really is not. I mean sure, it is economy class, but I have traveled economy aboard other airlines and they are simply way better. As others have mentioned, the cushions on the seats are thin, the seats are simply uncomfortable, the big media boxes under many of the seats (including this one) are bothersome as it gives you no space to stretch your legs or even put your purse or other items under the seat in front of you, which equals a terrible long flight with cramped legs. Not to mention the heat, like others mention they keep the cabin warm so it was just a bad flight all around, the food was also terrible and the flight attendants were non-existence even during times when the seat belt light was on, no one ever came by to make sure all passengers were wearing theirs. I am not sure I will ever fly Alitalia again, it truly was one of the worse experiences I have had.

I selected this seat based on another review and have to somewhat disagree. While there is a major advantage to having the legroom (to the LEFT of the seat you're actually in), the pitch was smaller than other seats. I'm 6' tall, so I wanted the legroom, but it was not all that easy to use since it was a seat over. Worst of all, when I was not stretching my legs they were smashed into the seat in front of me. The moved me on the return to row 22 and it was MUCH better, even without the missing seat ahead of me.

The entertainment equipment box turned out to be a huge issue, killing ? 40% of the pitch. The space for legs was good, not the greatest but not the worstest. The IFE had a good movie selection, although the image and sound quality was poor. Food was in a very small portion and crew was friendly.

The flat bed and duvet were wonderful as will as the large screen for viewing entertainment. Staff was great and available but the noise from the plane is like being by a drill. Even earplugs didn't allow me to sleep. Center seats are better

For those who are traveling in economy and need more room for their legs, I strongly recomend this seat. Due its location, two rows after chenging configuration (from 3-4-3 to 3-3-3), you can stretch your legs without being bumped by the cars.

Flew from Rome to Miami on December 24th. This seat is very comfortable and spacious. It is fully lie-flat and there is storage for your shoes under the leg rest. The ideal seat when traveling alone is the A type, near the window and away from the aisle. When traveling with a partner try the E+G combination it is perfect for conversation and intimacy

On Int'l flight from Rome to JFK, seat 28A: legroom was not an issue, but the huge entertainment equipment box was situated under seat 27A which allowed no room whatsoever for carry on or even my feet! Very uncomfortable. Food was adequate, flight attendants gracious & attentive, very good entertainment selections, got very warm (too warm) in cabin until midway thru flight when AC was cranked up at the request of just about everyone on board in economy. Would definitely use Alitalia again, but different seat.

Great legroom but limited overhead storage for this row. It also cost an additional fee for this exit row seating. Standard carry-on bag may not fit over seat in designated area, especially if other passengers have arrived there first and stowed their bag before you. Once in the air you can bring your belongings into seat area, but must place back overhead during approach/landing.
