Overview

Alitalia A330-200 aircraft feature a three-class cabin configuration: the Business Class cabin, the private Premium Economy cabin, and the refreshed Economy Class cabin.

This aircraft flies with 20 Business Class seats, 17 Premium Economy seats, and 219 Economy Class seats. The Business Class seats convert to flat-beds and offer in-seat work station capabilities, with PC power plugs and USB ports, and large 15.4" LCD screens to access vast personal entertainment options. The private Premium Economy cabin offers a variety of benefits including more legroom and greater seat pitch than regular Economy Class. Premium Economy passengers also enjoy priority check-in and boarding, and may check two bags at no cost as opposed to one for regular Economy Class. On board, Premium Economy seats also offer in-seat entertainment and work station capabilities, with PC power plugs and USB ports, and large 10.4" LCD screens to access the personal entertainment system. The seat is not that bad overall, the only hiccup is when your neighbor sitting in front of you reclines their seat. By the way, the last couple rows in the middle are not available to customers, they're seats reserved for the crew.

Although other comments say the contrary, this seat and the other business class seats do have overhead space. I was worried about it, after reading the comments, and I had no problems during my MXP-NRT flight (and back). Very good food and service, the only inconvenience was the toilet, occupied almost the whole flight.

Great "honeymoon seats" if you are travelling with someone you know. Prefer it to the distance some of the reverse herringbone ones have where you cannot see your partner easily. Comfortable, solid seat and great 4 course meal. Decent IFE, watched three movies on the FCO-YYZ 9 hour flight. Decently attentive staff. Solid Alitalia lounge in Rome as well.

Horrible. Flight rom Milan to JFK This is my 2nd flight Alitalia with this plane/configuration. Was a standard economy seat on side (2 seats). Its almost impossible to get out of these seats since none of the armrests lift and the seat in front of you is in your face. Entertainment games and movies kept pausing. Food almost inedible, I even left the dessert, I flew the other direction on Delta 767 and it was much more comfortable and the food was great. On Alitalia the only time you saw staff was during meal/drink service. Delta much friendlier and accommodating

Flew on on AZ604 from Milan MXP to New York JFK. Seat 29L has lot of legroom space but the armrests are fixed (because they contain the tray and the screen). This seat is very *COLD* ! Ask for an addictional blanket/plaid. Movie selection could be richer

Flew this JFK-MXP. This seat is the second row from the bulkhead of regular coach. Found legroom to be very lacking. Pitch here is 31 inches, not an inch more. Large entertainment box under seat in front of me drastically reduced foot room. On this plus side, the sets of two seats by the windows have individual air vents overhead. Those poor souls sitting in the row of 4 seats in the middle of the plane have no individual air vents. Sounds like a small thing, but it makes a huge difference in comfort. Seat itself was reasonably comfortable with good padding and nice adjustable headrest. Good enough in seat entertainment, though selection could be more extensive. Pretty good food served, but flight attendants made themselves scarce except for times of meal service. An extra inch of seat pitch would have made a huge difference for me.

These seats in the middle have NO AC vents above them, so there is very little AC cool air to breathe. I spent most of the 10 hour flight with a headache. Window seats had the ONLY AC vents and controls! Also, there arent any overhead bins for middle seats. Seats are narrow, uncomfortable.

No way should this be a green rating. Your review of extra legroom is 100% wrong. There is leas legroom. Your comment of slightly less width is also wrong. About 6 inches less width. Im a 35 waist, tall, but not fat guy and i barely fit between the armrests. This seat should be red. Highly avoid at all coats.

MIA-FCO-MIA 2L eastbound and 4A westbound. Both seats very comfortable and private being closer to the cabin wall. Service good and the food returning to MIA was the best I have ever had in flight. Wine selection excellent. Limited entertainment choices-very old movies. Reasonably comfortable beds--the pillows should be bigger. The flight service coordinator introduced herself on the MIA-FCO flight and wished me a good trip, which was quite nice. Attendant wished the American passengers seated around/including me a good stay and thanked us for flying AZ upon our arrival in MIA. Lounge in FCO in the new E terminal was excellent as well.

No problem with the seat. AZ is overall a poor airline. Moody flight attendants, COLD food, lots of employee but unable to provide decent service. Not worth the money, personally I will avoid AZ by flying Swiss or Lufthansa, doing a nice train ride to Italy if needed

My wife and I sat in Seat 29A and 29C from Rome to Miami. 29A is a little wider than 29C as both sides of 29C contain tray tables. Seats were relatively comfortable. Some people stood nearby while stretching or waiting for the bathroom but that was not too bothersome. The bathroom smell (especially when people left the bathroom door open after using it) was very noticeable. Would recommend this seat over other coach seats as the positives outweigh the negatives especially for a long flight.

All Economy seats have same SAFETY HAZARD. Armrests in economy to not lift up past a few inches leaving you unable to get out of the seat other than being an acrobat. If you are a senior you are trapped. You cannot slide out. If the seat in front is reclined, you are trapped! If there is an incident you will be unable to quickly evacuate your seat and in all likelihood become a statistic. Disghusting.

Flew premium economy round-trip JFK/FCO, 10G eastbound and 8G on the return. 10G was a great seat, but 8G was pretty bad -- the position of the bulkhead severely impedes legroom. I'm 5'10" and was pretty uncomfortable. The non-bulkhead seats on this place (rows 9 and 10) have great legroom and recline, but I would not pay the extra fare for premium economy if it meant sitting in row 8. If you're a female of average height, or a slightly shorter male, the bulkhead might be OK, but in general, I suggest avoiding anything in row 8.

The green coding on these seats is wrong. This is a paid upgrade "comfort seat" which cost 75 euros, and I had to move to a regular economy seat before take off because it was so uncomfortable. The partition with the section in front is so close that you have MUCH LESS room to stretch your legs than in regular economy, and the seats are VERY narrow. Economy felt amazing after sitting in this seat for 20 minutes or so until boarding was completed and I could move to a standard seat.

Have not seen reviews for this seat but flew 10/19/16 6:05 pm flight from JFK to Rome Flight 603. Was very sceptical about Alitalia since reading bad reviews. Plane was VERY comfortable. Looks like a refurbished plane. My husband had the window seat and the entertainment boxes are along the side of the seats on the floor. He had more than ample room to stretch out. Seats were very comfortable with the wing headrest and plenty of room to stretch your legs. USB port next to tv screen so you can charge your phone or any other electronic devise. Food was good and service was good. It was a nghttime flight so after they turn off the lights hard to get a steward(ess) attention. But overall very good flight and would recommend.

Seat 39D is a very good seat. This is the row where the center section contracts from four seats across to three across, so there is extra space on the aisle side of this seat. I had two seats in front of me to put stuff under, and I generally kept my backpack under the one to the left because I could reach things without the usual hassle that comes from trying to get things out from under the seat directly in front. Behind this seat, Alitalia reserves rows 40 and 41 for crew rest seats, so it's very peaceful behind.

This one's not bad, it simply should not exist in an aircraft. You would literally have your elbow in the toilet across the aisle. Imagine people leaving the toilet after a flush, or waiting in line? Not fun. Also, the hand control in this seat is broken.

i will never ever again fly this new plane which was designed for maximum seating and MAXIMUM DISCOMFORT. Took this flight from Rome, Italy to JFK. Full flight. I had the misfortune of being assigned to seat 36D (aisle) and the headset plug was broken so I could not enjoy a single movie for the entire international flight. The male flight attendant attempted to take apart the arm rest to try to expel the previously broken off headset metal but he was unsuccessful. They did not try to compensate me and since it was a full flight I had to suck it up. Also due to this being an aisle seat I was constantly banged up against by passengers going to the bathroom and from the food/beverage carts.

This is the tightest seat ever. There was only 6 inches approx. from front of armrest to back of seat in front. The armrest between the adjacent seat does only lifts halfway. To get out of either seat to the aisle you have to be a contortionist leaning at a 45 degree angle holding on to the seatback behind you so you do not fall down. A miserable 8.5 hr flight. Return flight on Delta on same type of aircraft gave double the room to get in and out of seat. Also entertainment console constantly froze

The front line seats are too close to the partition with the first class. This means there is the same legroom than a standard seat, but NO SPACE for feet. It is not possible to stretch your leg in the front.

These are excellent seats. There is a window right next to the seat, excellent view. NO cold air coming through the emergency exit, and lots of leg room. The only drawback is, during the overnight flight, there was a stream of people using the bathroom, the light from bathroom kept coming on when the door opened. I put my sunglasses on and fell asleep.

I flew from LAX RT to Rome. I had a window seat both ways. The entertainment box under the seat makes the seat bad in my opinion. I am only 5'3" and it takes up the entire area for your foot space. Absolutely no room for a carry on. I wont fly them again for this reason unless there is not option and then I will get an aisle seat

Have flown in all classes on Alitalia. My first time in business having used points to upgrade was great. The usual things you expect, dedicated check-in (you can also use this for premium economy which is a nice touch for that class). The flat bed seats are very comfortable. The food and service were great with nice pairings of wines and foods. Good entertainment system. I just booked my next flights on Alitalia and again paid a price and then upgraded with points to business. I was and have always been on the JFK-FCO flights, so can only of course speak to that route.

I have flown Alitalia many times from Economy, Premium Economy and Business. Economy is what one expects, cramped and nothing great. I highly recommend at the very least upgrading to Premium Economy. It allows for a private section of only 21 seats, separate from Economy. More room and better service. But even beyond that, you get to check-in at the business line, priority boarding and many of the benefits of business. I have flow Business which I find to be fantastic with the flat bed seats, great food and service. I have often read in the past, poor reviews of Alitalia, but I disagree at least with the JFK-FCO flights. I find their reward points and ability to upgrade from classes far better than any other airline.

I was in premium economy from Rome to Chicago. Seat was comfortable and quite roomy with a footrest, much more comfortable than on Air France's premium economy. TV screen was good and the entertainment offered a number of good movies. Food was exactly the same as for the economy passengers. Dinner was decent; the snack before landing was disgraceful: a single small muffin. We were able to use the washroom in business class. Priority check-in and boarding. The whole package was worth the extra $300 one-way charge as economy class was so cramped.

I've used Alitlia's Classica Plus (Premium Economy) on several occasions, always JFK-FCO and I have always been welcomed to use the Business class lavatory. In fact, the first time I thought I had to use Economy lavs, but the attendants told me we could use the Business class instead. I've never had an issue with any of the flights and the attendants were all helpful. I find regular economy seats to be adequate; I think premium economy are much more comfortable, with leg rests and a few extra inches of room. The amenities kit is a decent touch, nice but not great (I've only had Frette, but have heard Bulgari products are also sometimes used) The meal service varied. I've either simply been offered normal economy standard fare, or given a menu to choose from with detailed explanations of the courses, which was nice. Free newspapers (Italian only, usually) and a welcome drink (prosecco or sparkling water, depending on time of flight and juice) Entertainment is fine, a mix of recent hits and older films.

All window seats have TWO In-Flight Entertainment (as well as electricity socket) boxes installed beneath them - which means that leg room (width) is greatly diminished, by up to 25cm. You have to cram your legs between the two IFE boxes. For leg comfort, you'd do better to pick an aisle seat.

Economy plus seat only a bit more comfortable, in my opinion, then regular economy. Leg room was adequate. Passengers are made to use the economy lavatory a number of rows back. There are some disturbances from children who get the bulkhead seat in economy. Food/drink service is identical to economy.

Comfortable, quiet seat despite proximity to the galley. Rear business cabin is quite small and quiet, and most economy plus passengers are not allowed to use the business class lavatory so foot traffic is kept to a minimum.
