Whoever designed this seat was NOT an engineer. It took the staff to make it into a bed and complete the reverse into a seat. The whole Upper Class cabin is too open and intrusive. It will be a long time before I pay good money to travel in this aircraft again. The seats bear no relationship to their nomenclature if you want to travel with your partner. 3G is opposite 2J !

LHR-ATL Our first time on VA Airbus 330 and probably our last. In a real tour de force of bad seat engineering, these seats managed to be more cramped, unprivate and uncomfortable than any other major airlines business class seats we have flown on in ten years. The walls of each seat space are very narrow and confining, feet stick out into the aisle, and there is no storage space for personal items. It was a day time flight, so no comment on sleep possibilities other than speculation it would be miserable with one's feet hanging in the aisle to be constantly bumped and with the narrow walls closing in. The seat misery was partially mitigated by above average cabin attendants and rather good food and beverage.

Due to the narrowing of the cabin, seat has a strange angle which results in limited legroom (especially for the left leg). Not comfortable to sit at - avoid! 59A and 59K have more legroom than usual however.

These premium economy seats are great. Decent leg room, footrest and complementary drink upon boarding. The tables are in the arm rest which is good and they fold in half which makes it easier if you just have a drink - or you can use the shared 'flat space' between the seats with your neighbour, there is room for two drinks there. This seat is at the back of the PE cabin therefore nobody behind you so you can recline without worrying about the person behind. I chose this seat for that purpose as this was a night flight. I would happily use this seat again. PS, I got no noise from economy in the next cabin.. I also used 22K on the way out (day flight) - again, all the same benefits and I reclined a little but there seems to be plenty of room between you and the person behind anyway.

Bought extra legroom seats due to my other half being 6ft 4, thinking that it'd be enough room for him to be comfortable on the 8hr flight to new york. Unfortunately it wasnt. The extra 3 inches really isnt enough due to all the magazines etc in the pocket on the back of the seat in front. Will have to pay more for premium next time.

LHR-DXB Upper Class. Found Heathrow check in and lounge about the best around. Seat 1k to be snug in the upright position. When converted to a bed found it difficult to get comfortable. A lack of length in the bed didnt help. Wont rush back to use it again.
