Seat is great for legroom, but very narrow, due to tray tables located in the armrest. The seat belt also has a thick cover on the one side making it very uncomfortable.

This seat offers ample space for lying flat. The areas to store your items little limited but not bad, the overhead bins are very spacious. Bathrooms great too

Compared to other airlines the 33 pitch ist very comfortable. The seat ist more comfortable than other new light seats in the Industrie. In deed the plane is older than the competitors but not bad. I would book again this flight, also the staff was not that keen than others known from star alliance. Entertainment system is not state of the industrie but ok for an overnight trip. Amenity Kit and food is ok for the price i paid for the ticket, the missing power plug is also not state of the art, but if there will take place a refurbishment, the pitch will decrease to a lower standard I guess. So i am happy as it is now, becaus that is the most important point for me All flights on my SAA trip have been very punctual, sometimes ahead of schedule.

I had this seat for both JFK to Joburg and return - I wasn't charged extra for this extra legroom seat, it is narrower, and close to the rear bathroom and galley, the crew tend to be chatty during the flight and congregate in the galley

the seat has extra legroom as there is no seat in row 72 in front of it BUT it is narrower as the armrest has the tray table and video monitor, the plug for the audio headphones jammed into my leg and I had to hold it in just right to hear the sound, Good for legroom but a narrow seat and tight fit - No extra charge either!

Just a normal seat without another one in front of it. Which was incredible for the long JFK-JNG flight. I paid $40 for it and was happy I did.

Good seat on the bulkhead. Extra legroom so you can actually straighten your legs. Watch out on the flight from IAD to JNB where you stop in Senegal or Ghana. Even if you chose your seat for the whole trip, the airline reshuffles and makes you change seats midway so you lose your chosen spot.

My 6th time on the "Springbok" to or from Jo'burg, first time in 36E. It has reduced seat width due to the folding table being stored in the armrest. Also, due to the proximity of the bassinet it features a thick cushioned airbag attached to the left part of your safety belt reducing the hip space even further, which constantly lead to my IFE remote pausing viewing or switching to something else. With the bulkhead right in front of you, only people shorter than 170cm has a chance of being able to stretch the legs during the long flight, but the proximity to the lavatories will keep you awake anyway. And just for good measures; I stand 178cm tall and weigh 80kg, so I'm not a big guy. 36E never again!

Seat was okay as such, with two windows from which you can have good views. However, because of the specific position of 73K, there is too much space between the seat and the side of the airplane/window, which makes it uncomfy for the passenger to lay head on window (except with a big/thick pillow). Seat 74K, right behind, is better in this regard.

I have been flying this seat at least 50 times as I always prebook it. The only problem is the dramatically decreasing quality of the SA 346 Airbus aircrafts. Pain in the butt because of worn out seat, defunct monitors and so on. Once loved the 346 series, especially when they replaced the SA 747. Still a great plane, but at least at SAA the interieur needs attention.

When fully reclined in flat sleep mode, the seat is only big enough for someone who is about 5'5" tall. The fixed footrest was at my shins. The audio is lousy and the 3-prong connector would not work with my own Bose headphones. The video screen is small just like the ones in economy. The price for SAA business class is the same as others' First Class, but the service is more like "Premium Economy".

Had this business class aisle seat for a 15 hr flight JFK-JNB. Pretty much as expected based upon info from SeatGuru. One exception is that previous comments mentioned unfriendly/unhelpful flight attendants onboard. My experience couldn't have been farther from the truth. I found the service excellent and flight crew quite friendly.

Rows D and G have partial legroom due to the media box, but it's not bad. However, believe all the reviews about hard seats in coach. I heeded the advice and cut a 2" piece of foam to the dimensions of the seat and sat on that all the way from IAD-JNB. It made a world of difference. I just shoved it into a large pocket in my carryon and pulled it out when i got to my seat. Failing that, bring a pillow. You're going to be in this bird for 18-plus hours on the IAD-JNB route.

This seat is not worthy of a Business class seat. The seat when Extended takes up half of the isle to the toilets (galley). It is impossible for staff and customers to pass through without hitting the seat. As this is a sleeper seat for a night flight it is impossible to rest. Every economy seat is better. The schematic picture is misleading, as it shows the seat outside of the isle.

Do not sit in these seats. My husband had seats 1c and d and rhey were terribel. Too close to the reatrooms and bo one shuts the bathroom doors leaving you to get up and close. Also the curtains did nit fully close so you always have light. Very conjested with everyone using the toilets and getting food. With the price you pay for business this was not good at all. Be aware. I would never sit here again.

This is for a seat review for Business Class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6njSsj-28k I flew from Frankfurt to Johannesburg with my wife, and I was first of all shocked how spacious the seat was. So much room to by pass your neighbouring passenger. I sat by the window providing 3 windows of the plane to look out of, my wife was beside me on the isle side of the 2-2-2 format. Sitting by the window may be a problem if an overnight flight if you are traveling alone, and your passenger beside you is a stranger, as you will have to step over there bed. This is the only bad thing I can express. Food came out constantly to keep you occupied along with the drink service with presentation on the dishes just amazing, and the electronic chair had enough angles to suit every passenger needs. As this was an over night flight, the bed came into use. You got a duvet, pillow and an under mattress padded sheet which lay underneath you. Sleeping was very comfortable. If you can upgrade to Business, then it is worth it for a long journey ahead of you. I hope this was helpful advice, Cheers Jonathan

This seat should be marked yellow. As others have commented, both 69C and 69H are angled towards the seat in front of them, as the angle of the rows changes with the narrowing plane, right at row 69. This means that 69C and 69H have several inches less legroom than all the other seats. The tray table doesn't come all the way out either, because it awkwardly hits the one armrest since row 68 is at a different angle, and getting in and out when the person in front of you has reclined their seat is near impossible. I'm 5'6" and my legs hit the seat in front of me. Not a great choice for such a long flight.

This seat is very narrow - 16.5" I had to get out of the seat to remove the entertainment system remote. The seat shape and hard cushion will give you some serious pain on longer flights. This is testimony from multiple flyers of this aircraft. My experience was last week :-( Shame on SAA for this inferior product but boy can they police you on the blankets and pillows...

I was very worried that this exit row seat wouldn't recline as I have found in some other planes. But it has great leg room (way more than the bulkhead!) and also reclines. The seat is very narrow though so if you have slightly wider hips than most then you might find it uncomfortable.

Seat 69H is situated where the aircraft fuselage narrows. This means that 69H is angled toward the seat in front, which means there is less legroom in this seat compared to other economy seats. I would avoid this seat at all costs.

For some reason 36 H & K are not in line with the rest the row and encroach on the legroom of 37 H & K. When the seats in front are reclined back you need to close one eye to watch the TV as it so close to you! You have to climb over the arm rest to get in and out. The worst seat I have ever sat in!

Travelled business from perth to jburg. Good length lay flat beds but you need to lay on the pad they supply and the blanket to make it anywhere near comfortable. The window seat has more room when sleeping as the rest against the window goes further down . Allows your arms to hang out and make the capsule less claustrophobic

I flew from New York to Johannesburg and was unfortunate enough to end up in 37F. It was the worst flight I've ever been on. Not being able to stretch my legs out in front of me but rather to the side was horrendous and my tv was off to the side. The lady next to me (37G) couldn't lift her book up without blocking my view and her light shone more onto me than her. Once the TV is in position for 37G it makes it almost impossible for either seat to get up when needed without a massive hassle and trying to get your tray out of the armrest isn't easy when someone else's arm is resting on it. Without a doubt request not to be seated here and give your commiserations to the person in the seat as you pass by.

Flew in 2H/K on MUC-JNB. Seat has a good recline, goes fully flat. However, seat has many shaped contours that, when flat, really does not feel flat. SA offer both a sleeping pad and duvet for the flight. As I find planes to be very warm, I put both on the seat then laid down on top, and the effect of the contours was lessened. Not completely, but enough that I was able to get some sleep.

In economy, there is no underseat storage on C and H seats. There is no bar to hold your bag so it would move. The crew had to repeatedly tell people to move bags, shoes, blankets etc. There are small signs on the seat back. But a few people found it annoying.
