Overview

There are two classes on this Icelandair 757-200:

Saga Class is Icelandair's Business Class cabin. Passengers flying Saga Class enjoy good working space and Icelandair lounge access in Iceland and other countries. Full booking flexibility, including changes and cancellations. Saga Class has 20 seats and extends from rows 1-5.

Economy Class is the lowest fare class. A choice of a seat selection is offered when booking a ticket. Soft drinks and access to the new in-flight Entertainment System are complimentary. Economy Class has 151 seats.

Passengers should be aware that in rows 7,9,16 & 17 of Economy Class, the video screen is located beneath the seat and there is a button on the side of the seat to pull the screen fowards and up.

The maximum number of seats sold in Saga Class is 20. However if not all the seats of this fare class are sold, these seats are convetible to fill additional Economy Class tickets.

Even though these seats are sold as more legroom, the space for your feet is actually smaller due to the screen and table holders of the seat in front of you, making it hardly worth the $65 youd have to pay extra.

Does not recline and legroom is less than a standard economy seat because of the aircraft door sticks out.

Flew paid Saga Class from KEF to PDX, an eight-hour flight. Saga class is not, in any way, an international "business class" seat. At best - and this is a stretch - it is a mediocre premium economy long-haul product at a premium price. Seat width and pitch is comparable to a decent international premium economy product. Although the IFE screen is large, the AVOD system was not working the entire flight. Frankly, for the money, Icelandair's "Economy Comfort" product is probably a better value.

The seat CAN recline and there IS floor storage available. And there is Plenty of legroom. Only bothersom is that the wall may annoy your left shoulder. Furthermore the window is a bit ahead, for which you need to bend over from your seat to watch out of the window.
