This is the best business class I have sat in. The cabin is beautiful and with every seat being an aisle seat you can decide to sleep early, or sleep late and you won't be a bother to any neighbor. The headrest has a built in pillow that I use as my sleeping pillow so the provided extra pillow is generally not used by me. Seat reclines to fully lay flat position. Duvet is provided to keep you warm. Foot position can seem a bit cramped at first but you get used to it if you are flying 14hrs+. I fully recommend China Airlines and this business class.

This is probably one of the worst Premium Economy. The seats' width and pitch are shorter than most other airlines. These Premium Economy seats are the slide-down feature instead of a traditional tilt-back. The idea is great but this is actually quite uncomfortable. Plus, the cushions on these are harder than usual. I wouldn't recommend these seats.

AMS - TPE - AMS. The flat-bed seat itself was nice but too short for my 6’8” (2.04 meters) height so it was a bit hard to sleep in fully flay position. And it was a bit hard to get into the seat because the access from the aisle was a bit narrow. The complimentary amenity kit (from The North Face) was very luxury. The complimentary slippers (standard size L) were too small for my feet (size 13). The food was pretty good but serving some kind of wheat buns instead of white buns would be better. Or have both so customers can choose. The onboard Sky Lounge with free fruit/snacks was very nice. The free Wi-Fi in business class after redeeming a complimentary voucher was awesome. All in all I would fly with them again. Also because they are a lot cheaper than Cathay/KLM/Air France/Emirates.

Middle seat on the right wing next to the emergency door is worth it for the added leg room on the long haul flight, but beware that the flight attendant will spend ~4 hours seated directly in front of you during the flight, monitoring the cabin. I awoke multiple times (the bathroom door lights are blinding when someone opens them) to a lovely Chinese woman looking right back at me.

Row 69 is the last 3-seat row before the 2-seat rows at the back of the plane begin. For this reason it is on a slight angle meaning that seat K has more legroom than the average seat and than the rest of the row. This shpuld be a recommended seat.

It's a shame that China & EVA have gone to a 3-4-3 configuration on their 777s. Although legroom is still acceptable and the seats are well-cushioned with decent recline, the 17" seat width is very uncomfortable. I won't sit in anything but an aisle seat in a narrow configuration like this, but even then, if you get anyone next to you who is even average size, you'll have your arms pressed together for the entire flight. This is below the high standard of comfort for which Asian legacy airlines have been known.

I really dislike their 3-4-3 configuration in the economy class, very narrow seats and aisles. I prefer EVA's wider seats but they charge higher fares.The China Airlines 777-300 seat cushion is also very bad, makes my butt hurts. Next time I'd bring my own cushion to endure the long flight.

I fly with China Airlines often for work (to date at least 5 times) and I'd rate it a peg below Cathay Pacific. The planes are new, the wood accent throughout the cabin is cozy and the food is good. However my biggest gripe is that the premium economy seats don't actually recline, they slide. This is good for not crushing the person's leg behind you, however not so good for comfort as you're forced into an awkward slouched position. To make matters worse there's very little leg room (I'm 5'11") and the arm rests don't fold, so you can't lay 2 across if you're next to an empty seat. Nonetheless I've flown in much more uncomfortable planes and everything else makes up for the seats.

Flew China Air first time 05 Feb. 2019 Brisb/Ak. Seats narrowest ever encountered (I'm 57kg) & engines so loud that people were straining to hear crew offer meal/drink choices. Enough legroom (at 5'8"). Excellent service & crew amazingly helpful toward passengers travelling with disabilities. Small lunchtime meal (choice of 2) but tasty. Entertainment system has less choice (tv & movies) than other airlines offer. I would fly CA again but choose a different aircraft if poss.

This row is perfect for couples traveling together because you don't have to deal with a stranger beside you. Overall feedback on the seat is good. The back reclines and the seat moves forward at the same time which gives it its reclined feeling without having to intrude on another person's space. Since this row is behind a 3-seater, you have an extra seat pocket in front of you, if that matters. Entertainment monitor is huge and resolution is sharp with a huge variety of entertainment options. There is a USB power port available as well for charging. Unfortunately during our flight, the power port was not working but at least I was able to charge on the USB. Service was good as well. I would consider flying China Airlines again in the future.

I am six four and this was one of the most uncomfortable seats ever. I am tall. When you slide the seat forward, your back hurts due to lack of support and you have no leg room. I ended up having both seats to my self and extended the leg rest of the seat next to me, and kind of curled up across both leg rests. Not horrible, but not great either. Don't worry about the window missing, you are required to keep your shades shut the entire flight.

Compared to seats 69 A, 69 B, or 69 C (which we were assigned to on flight CI 3), seat 53 G seemed a little wider (there was a three week separation between taking CI 3 SFO-TPE and taking CI 4 TPE-SFO, and we can't be sure if our body size changed much in three weeks) and was more accommodating of my pregnant wife's wider body. The arm rests of seat 53 G are also movable (including the isle arm rest), i.e. they can be raised. Bright light from the lavatory did cause some inconvenience for seats 53 D, E, F, G when we tried to sleep.

Both arm rests for 69 B are fixed in position and cannot be raised. Even if you buy one of the adjacent seats (69 A or 69 C) for couple/family travel, you cannot raise the arm rest to accommodate a wider body type (seat width is only 17").

The seat was comfortable. I was able to sleep for a lot of the flight (SFO-TPE). You are pretty close to one of the galley areas, so you get served pretty quickly. The windows were great for photos. Also, the mood lighting is a really great touch.

FRA-TPE-MNL Very nice surprise in biz class. Though not matching Qatar it was worth spending. Very attentive crew, meal variety was ok, but still far better then eco, quality was good. Lots of room. Missed the seat cover for sleeping like on Qatar. Would definitely fly them again.

The Premium Economy Seats make a very good first impression and the first thought about the fixed shell seats was positive. That was until I tried to sleep: I'm 1,98m/6ft5" and it was impossible for me to sleep! Non-reclined the backrest was too steep, reclined I had no room for my legs! I am booking Premium Economy for additional legroom, and with a regular seat, if the passenger in front of me reclines his seat that is not nice for me, but it has almost no influence on my legroom. But with these seats, when I recline I lose about 10cm/4" of legroom! Never again!

Was upgraded to this seat because of my sky team elite status on my short TPE-PVG flight. A nice surprise that I don't get with China Southern. The seat was comfortable and the features all worked. The recline is a bit strange and not sure how it would be for a long 10+ hour flight. But overall much better than normal economy. Food was OK, nothing to write home about.

Family couch: the most disappointing experience of China Airlines. The seats in front of us weren't sold as family couch. Therefore, the seats reclined straight onto us. This reduced space by about 2 inches, making sleep impossible. AVOID family couch on China Airlines, especially the first row SOLD as family couch (varies to match demand).

We flew from LAX to BKK via TPE. The mechanic of Family Couch was not functional as it could not be lifted up to be sofa bed as it should be. The crews tried many times and apologized for the problem. However they did not move us to other seat row because there was others sat on other Family Couch Row. After flying I noticed that there are 2 passengers in front of me who sat without any conversation along our flight. This show that they were not Family Couch's buyers. I do not recommend to buy such seat as the crews never reserve the said seats for customer who pay more.

The premium economy seats are very comfortable, although a 14h+ flight makes them feel less so. I have to agree with the previous comment with regards to them sliding forward being bad for tall people. My legs got clamped between my seat and the seat in front if I moved the seat as far back as it goes, which is not a comfortable way to travel at all. Good service, ok food (slightly better than economy, but nothing special). Major problem with their noise cancelling earphones, as the connector is in an awkward location which meant either broken sockets or broken headphones with bent connectors. Same level of entertainment system as competing airlines with modern touch screen systems.

Nice upgrade over the standard economy. Much roomier. That being said, the encased/fixed-back shell seat (seat is able to recline without affecting passengers sat behind) is not perfect, since to recline, the seat slides forward reducing your leg room. It can prevent tall people to sleep comfortably.

I was traveling from LAX to TPE. I took economy family couch, and, it was great! There was lots of legroom, and a sleeping leg rest, and may I point out that there is a very big tv screen? Unlike the A330-300, which has a 6.5" screen, the B747-400, which has a 9" screen, and the A340-300 which also has a 6.5" screen, the B777-300ER has a 11.1" screen! (note that these TV measurements are for economy) The 777's screen is bigger than the A330 and the A340's business class TV, which is 10.4"!

Wish I'd read these comments before booking; there's a reason their economy seats are cheaper than the competition's. 17 inches may be all right for a short-haul flight, but on what must be one of the longest-haul commercial flights operated by any airline, it is misery--especially if you are trapped in a middle seat. And I am not large by any standard. It didn't help that upon landing, they parked the plane on the tarmac far away from any gates and used buses to transport passengers to the terminal--which prolonged the agony for the passengers in the rear by 30 minutes as bus after bus filled with passengers from the front. Food was mediocre leaving North America but was much tastier on the return flight out of TPE.

I was traveling from Taipei to Frankfurt in premium business cass. The seat is very good, however the seat controls respond very slow. The food was way below average for Business class. They offered two meals fish or chicken which was economy quality, very poor. However the where very genorous with tab water. They save on food cost wherever they can. For Champagne they make you wait water is served immediately.

TPE-SFO - others have commented that there is more legroom from the seat being on the bulkhead, I'd disagree. On the non bulkhead seating you can get your feet under the seat in front of you, important when you are 6'3"+ like me looking for every inch to spread out in. Video is on the wall in front vs a popup arm out of the seat assy, so screen was a ways away. The new in flight entertainment system is one of the better, seems to be based on a Windows 10 interface. Movie selection was just ok for an 11hr flight. Good food, decent service but Cathay is still my gold standard that hasn't yet been beat. Will fly China Air again though.

Really enjoyed both FRA-TPE and back (up to 13:20 hrs), premium economy is definitely worth the (what I perceived as) minimal surcharge, considering I was spending 26 hrs on board in total. I don't get the footrest, as there is not enough leg space to actually lift your feet in the air. But altogether, more space and more options. If you have the extra cash, don't delay! Glad that SGuru found out about the missing window one row in front of me. Figured it out through online pics myself beforehand ;) You don't wanna hear this, but the window seat next to me (33A) was empty on both legs :D Don't let the horrible statistics from the 80ies fool you: China Airlines offers a solid, safe and punctual service like any other Southeast-Asian airline.

Sat in premium economy. The seats are a shell design that slouches in position instead of reclining back into the row behind which is nice. The seat padding was a little thin but overall excellent flight. Brand new gorgeous plane everything up-to-date. Crew was ok. Movies were lacking in my opinion but ok. Food is not so great. Overall great leg room, early boarding, priority check in counter definitely worth the extra money over being cramped in economy on such a long ride.

isles are certainly too narrow; been repeatetly pushed by trolley and passengers/crews and i am not a BIG guy.

The Business Class seats are among the best I know: very spacy, a large desk, and lots of storage. Lying flat is possible also for taller ones (I am 190 cm), however while sitting, the headrest, even in its highest position, was too low for me. I helped myself with a pillow which was OK. Service was excellent, and the airport lounge at Taipei is a dream!

Daughter and I flew on the family couch. She is 48" (65lbs) and I am 63" (166lbs). Both of us could lie down and sleep. There was enough room for her to lie flat, and me on my side (it was fairly tight though). She slept about 9 hours, and me about 6, which was pretty good. Well worth the extra money if you have little ones.

The arm rest on the last two rows (68,69), before it becomes two seaters instead of three, where the window seats were cannot go up. Its a hassle when you have a toddler and all she wants to do is stretch and lay comfortably. I have no idea why they made the planes this way.

Great seat if you want window but don't want to be blockaded in there by two other passengers. BUT the gap to the window is larger than a 3-across seat, too far for leaning on the bulkhead and sleeping. The gap is large enough for a hand-carryon bag. I stowed a Patagonia Lightwire Brief there easily (about as wide as a Bihn Pilot).

Seat very comfortable. Leans back far enough so I could sleep. Plenty of movies and other entertainment. Free beer. Cabin staff very helpful. Flight was great even though it was completely full and lasted 13+ hours (Taipei to Los Angeles.)

Flew NY To TPE. Brand new plane was nice. Essentially empty premium economy section which made using the bathroom nice. Seat was as advetised, i thought it was pretty comfortable. Food and flight atendant service was average but I slept comfortably for 10 out of 15 hours and the rest was spent on a fancy 12 inch IFE system. I would defintely recommend the seat.

I sat at 30C in Premium Economy class. The 19-in seat definitely more comfortable than 17-inch economy seat. A good space between buckhead and seat to stretch leg. The only drawback is your LCD entertain screen attached to the buckhead, kind of far from you.

The 10-abreast configuration makes for a very tight squeeze. The 17" seat width is a good inch narrower than the competition, and the extra seat in each row makes for a very narrow aisle which barely leaves enough room for the service carts to pass through. If you have an aisle seat you WILL be bumped by the carts.

Premium economy on new 777-300. Decent amount of space and worth the cost. Reclining leg and wider seat allowed me to sleep on my side. Slightly better amenities in this class and larger cabin bathroom.

Great business class seat (feels like your own little hotel room), one of the best I've flown so far. Lots of seat settings and elaborate AVOD system, I didn't even manage to go through all functions since it was just a short flight.

Business class was excellent (similar to AA but better) with very open feeling including desk area (with two storage compartments underneath for small items) to the side of seat complementing movable tray table that can be slid forward/aft. AVOD system is top notch and there are 3 lights. Bed is comfortable. Service very good. All-in-all a great experience!

economy seats 62 D/E. These seats are 17 inches wide most other 777-300ER are at least 18 inches wide. Believe me that 1 inch makes a difference on a 14 + hour flight. If you're 5 foot 7 inches or less tall and 175 lbs or less in weigh the economy seats are ok. China Airlines' 3-4-3 confguration is money making scam., others use 3-3-3 configuration.
