Who can travel alone?

Who must be accompanied?

Children less than 5 years of age must be accompanied by someone aged 16 or older. Children aged 5 - 11 will be accepted for travel providing there is a pre-arranged Unaccompanied Minors service in place or they are accompanied by a passenger aged 16 or above.

Special Requirements for entry into Barbados

Unaccompanied children under the age of 16 visiting Barbados require a notarised letter from their parents or legal guardian stating that permission has been given for the minor to stay with a host whose full name, address and telephone number must be included in the letter. Please note that no male other than the father is allowed to receive a minor; he must produce paternal proof. In addition, a female occupant of the house is required to meet the child(ren). Children aged 16-18 travelling unaccompanied must have the full name and address of their hostess; a letter is not required. By order of Barbados Immigration and Passport Department letter ref 173 dated 9th May 2008.
